When asked for the refund of Airport Tax, AirAsia will impose administrative fees that is higher than the domestic airport tax itself. It should not be the case as it has already forfeited the fare. More than enough profitlah Thambi.
MOT should impose regulation that refund of Airport Tax for un-travelled passenger should be automatic.
YB,
When purchasing air tickets via Air Asia website, there is info for pax indicated no refund policy and if missed the flight, air fares is “forfeited”. This we must take on against Air Asia management for imposing such policy in the first place since the inception of Air Asia. There shall be info for public about the refund of airport tax if no show.
Hi John
I believe that MOR/MAHB are looking into imposing new regulations to make refund automatic for no-show passengers. I will try my best to push MOT to impose new regulation for this purpose so that the interest of the traveling public will be safeguarded.
Thank you.
Have a nice day.
Regards

YB,
Air Asia is in full compliance to the guidelines laid down by MOT – AK has and will always refund the Airport Tax for all unflown sectors. Lets not argue about this.
What they do is make it not worthwhile for Passengers to ask fo a refund of the Airport Tax. This is what we need to address.
That is why Tony is a clever th…f.
Note: minor edition to avoid unnecessary problem sdr. Sorry and thank you.
Dear YB,
Perhaps MOT/MAB should look into regulations as in develop countries pertaining to Passenger with Reduced Mobility (PRM) whereby no airlines are allowed to impose such fees.
Moral is in question if no prohibition ‘taking advantage on disadvantage people!’
The ‘Fly AirAsia? Not Me’ blog did their first expose on that scam back in 2007, when AirAsia Head of Marketing, Kathleen Tan, claimed: ““Due to the high volume of passengers, it is not easy for us to track the number of no-show passengers” – as an excuse for withholding monies that rightfully belonged to customers. Not to forget, said passengers had provided their email when they made their booking plus provided their credit card details to book their fare. AirAsia still do not credit passengers’ credit cards with refunds automatically, however, they do still charge disabled pensioners to use a wheelchair. Charming. If you wish to read the original article it is here.
It is a Con Job! People should start boycotting it to talk the Red Indian a lesson. Then he will wake up to his senses that Malaysians are not that stupid after all.
Profits come first, Public and nation come last for AirAsia. All kind of charges have been imposed. It appears to be cheap but when you are finished with the transactions then you will know that you have been ripped off.

Fully back you in carrying out your actions and congrats for what you have achieved so far?
Charles
Refund of airport tax for untravelled passengers, where the fares have been forfeited by AirAsia, should be refunded automatically without any form of deduction. They have made enough profits there from the forfeiture. Why deduction for administrative fees which is well above the airport tax itself.
Ripping off the public is the business model.
Tony, using it as free or non-interest loan, money from poor rakyat….after that he blame everyone else except himself for all the problems….Try study his blog and tweets……He is very-very good in blaming other parties and create excuse…sometime unlogic that only Khazanah TOP Management believe…
