terima kasih

When will DBKL take action on a malay food stall in front of Menara Alpha Section 2 Wangsa Maju?
The boss name called En Rashid. No action taken is because he is supporter for Zulhasnan???
Apa macam ni? How can DBKL have dual policy? one side demolish chinese stall, and the other side no action taken against him?

TMN DANAU KOTA
Dear sir,
Kindly look into the matter of Mid-night pasar malam at Tmn Danau Kota. People and the “Penjaja” are parking like mad house there. It was very troublesome for me to even get home after 10pm everyday except the day they are off.
The hawkers sometime even have their stalls at the main road side and corners (near the police station). This is extremely dangerous.
Music play are too loud. Resident area are very close. I live like 10 houses from the junction of the police station but still can hear the music played. It continue till 1~2am. It’s very annoying when you are trying to get a good sleep.
Sometimes, some visitor (due to no parking space) even parked their car in front of my house (right in front of my gate). I cannot go out due their car blocking my car. And my father’s car got no place to park when he come back from work.
Please look into the matters. TQ.

Saya ingin menjawab aduan ricky bertarikh 24 Jun 2008.Tindakan DBKL merobohkan gerai Desa Setapak disebabkan menyambung bangunan dibawah kuasa Jabatan Perancang Bandar DBKL,kami penjaja2 berlesen dibawah kelolaan Jabatan Pengurusan Peniaga Kecil DBKL.Janganlah kerana nila setitik rosak susu sebelanga dan janganlah di politikkan penjaja2.
Jadilah fikir-fikirkanlah ????? Be smart!
Hello RICKY, well done….you have done a good job.
I”II dont want to blame who or how or why but I only want to defend what I want to eat everyday in a low cost that mean cheap you idiot…..!!!!!!?
to MR./MRS RICKY..,
I am a TAR college student that have rent menara alpa many years, what did I know that the DBKL take action to them because they make a roof hanging from the building wall, then the hawkers had been notice 3 years ago.
Here a good part I”ll want to tell you that the hawkers are renting their stall from one great owner, open your mind and think cause if the DBKL give license to this one great owner, the owner will ‘ALIBABA’ the license to the others chinese hawkers….if one stall RM$1000 each…?? how much do you think if the great owner have 5 to 7 stall..?? And I”ll think “HARTINI TOMYAM” dont do that kind of stuff..
think more hard RICKY because this is MALAYSIAN, the words MALAY stand first but the malay people dont care about it, they make friend with us.. if the chinese hawkers sell “HALAL” food I”ll think the malay people also eat like chinese buah potong or TAU FOO FA..
think about it my dear RICKY………think very-very hard..!!!!?

Tolong siasat kawasan pembinaan apartment Riana Green sebelah Carrefour Wangsamaju…bunyi bising seperti bahan binaan/simen/concrete (saya pun tak pasti) dibuang dari tingkat atas sekali hampir setiap minit.
Terima Kasih
Dear Bro & Sis
I have look at your complaints and have contacted the relevant departments. The officers concerned have been helpful and co-operatives. They have promised to look into the matter complained and try their level best to resolve them.
If the problems are not solved after 2 weeks, please send to me an email and refer to your complaint number and your name next to the number. This is your reference number. e.g. the last complaint of July 7, 2008 at 11:24 pm is No: 15 Tehsin.
Let give DBKL a chance to make good. I am sure that if there is a will, there is a way.
Thank you so much for your kind understanding and posting of your complaints here. I hope that more and more people will utilise this section.
Good night.
Good night.
Hello Ricky,
I really hope you can help me …. as a concerned expat resident of KL (I have been here for over 4 years) I have noticed a few disturbing things that I would love you to look into for me.
1. I live in Bukit Bintang and often walk along Changat Bukit Bintang. With the arrival of all the lovely new restaurants in our area parking in this street has become such a problem …. cars fill the pavements which means that we, the pedestrians, have to walk in the street. Jockey parkers are often the worst culprits. Besides it being very dangerous we are also more exposed to snatch thieves (that also run rife in our area). Please could you do something to give us back our pavements and our safety.
2. I am also very concerned about the increasing number of ‘Fake Monks’ that are roving around our city. They accost unsuspecting tourists demanding money …. please do something to remove them from our society as they are such pests and they also give Buddhism a bad name.
3. Finally I have a complaint about the LCCT taxi sales staff – recently I went to buy a ticket at their counter and was told that the price was RM92.00 …. I was surprised and said that I normally paid around RM70.00. They mentioned something about “all my luggage” … I only had ONE piece of hand-luggage with me!! Then I asked them when the price of airport taxi’s had gone up, but they couldn’t answer me. Eventually I relented and bought an expensive ticket (which turned out to be for the limo service) but after talking to the staff at the Information Desk I was told that they were having a lot of trouble with this particular counter. They have been refusing to sell tickets for budget taxi’s!! I went back and asked specifically for a ticket for a BUDGET taxi and they refunded me the difference (RM30.00). I don’t know why they are doing this as there were so many budget taxis outside waiting for customers. With the increased fuel price, the taxi driver’s don’t need the extra burden of being treated like this. I was not the only disgruntled customer.
KL is a lovely city that tourists love visiting but they need more protection from deceitful operators.
I would really appreciate some action in these areas of concern.
Kind regards,
Mrs Ruth Herfst
Parking Fees…
Wangsa Setia tak sepatutnya kena bayar parking kereta.. Harap DBKL pertimbangkan. Wangsa Setia cuma neighbourhood centre je..
Tak patut..
Mr Wee,
Semalam saya buat panggilan lagi, seorang mengurus nama Rashid, dia beritahu, sekarang tiada Fun untuk beli kabel baru, kena tunggu kerajaan pertuntukan.
Lepas tu saya tanya kena tunggu sampai bila? dia jawab tak tahu, kena tunggu sampai ada fun.sekarang saya kena tunggu sampai bila?kena bayar bil telekom lagi?harap Mr Wee boleh ambil tindakan.sekian ribuan terima kasih!
Eddy aku pun tinggal kat taman melati, Apartment Gombak 2 .. DBKL memang suka lambat lambatkan kerja bile melibatkan kawasan perumahan kat situ..
MR WEE
Mr Wee,
I would appreciate very much if you can take immediate action.
I m a residnet form Apt Sri Tioman. I would like to make a complaint toward the DBKL about the phone cable being stolen by someone last 2 months ago. Partially the residents have been affected by this issue seriously. We totally can’t use the phone at all and no access to the internet.
Most of the residents had reported the issue immediately. According to the authority, they will replace the cable soon & the process will take about 4 weeks time due to they need to place the order for the cable & award the contractors to carry out the work. But the authority never keeps their commitment.
They keep dragging & dragging and push the responsibilities to others. Till last few days, I’ve called the relevant person again & I was extremely frustrated being heard the engineer responded that they have short of fund to replace the cable. She even blaming some of the resident never pays the maintainan fees. As I deeply believed this incident is nothing to do with our maintainan fees at all.
I would like to pour out my woes here as this incident was not fair to me. I’ve pay my maintainan fees punctually every month.
This really makes lot of inconvenient for those relay much on networking. the worse, we need to pay our phone bill….I hope the authorities bear for the responsibilities to sort out this problem immediately.
MR WEE AND DBKL

Syabas and well done to the DBKL officers that came to Metroview last night to sapu SOME OF THE tables and chairs belong to the restaurants that are occupying the roadside five-foot way.
Unfortunately, not all the tables and chairs were confiscated.
WHY?!
Parking has become a big problem in this area since most of the parking lots are taken by these selfish restaurant owners.
DBKL, please also take not that the yellow color restaurant (called PLUS PLUS something, Metroview shoplots) is even occupying one lane of the 2-lane road in front of Metroview shoplots. Hence, this has caused so much inconvinience to the road users. Please sapu these stalls as well! Thank you.
DBKL, your prompt action will be appreciated by the residents here.
THANK YOU.

Dear MP Wee,
This really left me no choice but to bother you since DBKL didnt take any action evenafter we wrote in many times. Let’s see whether you help many of us, residents around Sri Pelangi Condo & Prima Setapak.
Residents here are just like staying nearby a stadium where every night held concert. There is this restaurant call “Little Tree” (corner shop lot @ prima setapak) which facing Sri Pelangi Condo, that has a live band playing loudly every night! They usually starts at 9.00pm but end very late at times even after 2.00 am which has been disturbing residents around here. Children, working adults, TAR students here are suffering, my dearest MP.
We had enough of concert, MP Wee.
Please help.
Thanking you in advance. God Bless.
OH
TAK KAN SI WCK NAK AMBIL TINDAKAN KPD ORG YG MENJADI PENAJANYA MASA PRU 12….
I would like to add a comment to the complaint #29 by OH. I’m also one of the resident @ Sri Pelangi Condo, the live band that annoyed people is from another cafe called ColaClub. Their singing is getting louder and LOUDER every night until 1-2 am. Be fair, no matter who were the sponsor to WCK during PRU 12, they have no RIGHT to violate the law! FYI, For you info, I’m also one of WCK’s voter. Be fair, If WCK cant do it, who else should take the responsibilities to help the residents? Should we go to Yew TL then?
Please take necessary action. Thank you.
KS
Dear #31 KS,
I too have similar problem. The noise coming from those restaurants at Metroview shoplots (especially the yellow colored PlusPlus restaurant and the chinese restaurant beside Bangi Kopitiam) is getting worse! Not only the havoc these irresponsible restaurant owners created by occupying the car park lots, the noise coming from the outdoor bigscreen is unbearble!! Last night i had to sleep with all windows closed! I have posted this problem here so many times, and yet, nothing seems to have been done so far.
Like you said, if WCK could not help us, who else should take the responsibilities to help the residents….should we approach YTL then? I really don’t know.
and so far, what has DBKL do so far towards this problem? Are they waiting for another mishap to happen whereby they need another out-of-control car to ram against these patrons of these restaurant who are enjoying their meal BY THE ROADSIDE?!
I thought tables and chairs by the roadside (what’s more when they are occupying the car parks!!) are not allowed?
DBKL, are you aware of this problem? or you are just closing one eye on this issue…but to me, looks like you are closing both eyes. All talk, no action.
come on Mr Wee, prove me wrong that there’s law in this country.
Please help.
Dear Mr Wee,
I’m a college student staying around prima setapak. I have the same problem like KS & OH with these unbearable noise from the cola club live band. I have to struggle to sleep every night even i close all the window. I’m sure there’ll be alot of students have the same problem. We just want to study in a peaceful environment, can you please help.
I’ve try contacted the police but they said is none of their business. I’ve also logde a complaint with bandaraya thru DBKL website but nothing seems happen. By the way, how many complain DBKL expecting before they could look into the matter seriously?
Mr Wee, i really hope that you could proof to us especially dann that there’s not only law in this country but enforcement body too. Please help.
The biggest thing our Malaysia AUTHORITIES lack of is INNITIATIVE.
They always need to wait for the public to complain first before they do anything.
One simple example is the condition of our roads. Look at those potholes. Potholes are everywhere. And yet, i have seen some potholes that have been there for many many months before the authorities decide to patch it up. This clearly shows that they do not do their part. It is their duty to make sure the roads are in good condition and do not pose any danger to the public. They only react when someone lodge a complain OR when someone got killed.
Another example is the table and chairs in the carpark lot problem. Don’t tell me DBKL is not aware of this problem…just go around Prima setapak area, Genting courts, Metroview, BRJ, Desa setapak, etc. Tables and chairs are everywhere by the roadside, occupy each and single carpark! Don’t tell me they are not aware of this? Being not aware is not a good excuse.
Do they always need someone to complain and make noise before they do something?
Where is the innitiative?
Dear Mr Wee,
I’m one of the residents in Prima Setapak area, and i’m staying in sri pelangi condo.
Recently, one of the shops in prima setapak called “Cola Cafe”, they’ve live band starts daily from 9pm onwards to 1am and weekend till 2am. It’s really noisy, irritating and disturbing, especially the kids need to sleep around 10pm… and even when we watched TV, the sound is actually covered the TV sound… In fact, by closing all the windows and sliding door also, the noise still there…
The speakers are facing outside the cafe, and eventually facing sri pelangi condo.
Kindly do something to stop it, as the area is a residential area and not meant for night life.
Please help.
Thank you for your quick response.

Dear Mr Wee,
With regards to the residents’ complaints of the live band in prima setapak (cola club). I do have the same problem and strongly agreed with their thoughts…
The kids, the students, the working adults need to sleep/rest and study. Please take into consideration seriously.

Complaints No: 35 & 36
Please be informed that when I received similar complaint before this , I had already brought this matter tot he attention of DBKL. This matter had already been sent to the Jabatan Pelessean for actions.
It would be appreciated if the residents of the area lodge official complaints with Unit Komunuikasi dan Korporat of DBKL. and forward the Reference Number to me for following up actions.
Of course, I cannot guarantee that DBKL will take actions bearing in mind their attitude of housing developers and businesses friendly. However, with the reference number I will be able to follow up on the complaint with DBKL.
Thank you for bringing the matter to my attention.
Regards
Thank you so much Ms Sharon for sending to the DBKL’s Unit Kominikasi & Korporat Reference No: 0063/08/20087. I shall follow up with the relevant department of DBKL.
I hope that the Unit Komunikasi and Korporat will carry out their duty in ensuring public complaints are attended to. Although I have personally made several complaints pertaining to carrying out construction works outside working hours, no serious actions have been taken by this Unit or the relevant department.
Lets see whether DBKL will take the necessary actions.
Mr Wee,
“…..no serious actions have been taken by this Unit or the relevant department.
Lets see whether DBKL will take the necessary actions.”
This is nothing new.
I really wonder when will DBKL want to buck up.
How can we make DBKL hear us? From what you mentioned, looks like our pleas weren’t “loud” enough. To some people with this kind of “hearing problem”, we need to “yell” at them.
can we try Pemudah?
Tan Sri Sidek today in the Sun said, he adopted DBKL.
1) masalah tikus berkeliaran dikawasan blok a dan blok

“Dia jahatkan…..”
Please circulate/forward to our friend….especially the people around TAMAN MELATI for information and further action.
Insan Prihatin

YB
I have seen DBKL taking actions against illegal extensions against hawkers and small traders. Unfortunately, DBKL chose not to take actions against certain case like Restoran RasHartini in Desa Setapak.
This RasHartini was able to build the stall just by the traffic light and yet no action has been taken by DBKL Jabatan Perancang and Jabatan Penjaja. This is very obvious.
I hope that YB will bring this matter up with DBKL. If no actions are taken in this obvious case then YB Should go to the Anti-Corruption Agency to expose some hanky panky there.
How could a stall be built by the traffic light and DBKL officer could not see?
YB,
For your information. Many years ago, the site which it is located was formely an Indian run hawker food store just like what they did right now. For whatever reason, we don;t know, this hawker store had being demolished as well. After this hawker store is demolished, within a week, this new store is being set up until now.
YB,
DBKL,
Please…NEVER NEVER give permits to road contractors to dig up the road in the morning during peak hours!!
Gila is it? This morning (Thurs 25 Sept 08), nearby the Selangor Pewter Junction (Wangsa Maju > Sri Rampai), the contractor caused a huge havoc and traffic jam for no reason. That traffic jam stretch right up to Alpha Angle junction! How can you give permits to them to close part of the road during morning peak hours?!
Gila ka?
Want to close the road for construction, want to dig up the road, do it during non-peak hours!! Learn from Brisbane City Council…digging up road can only be done during wee-hours.
Malaysia really Boleh. Apa2 pun boleh.
Dear friends
42, 43, 44, 45 & 46
I take note of what you have stated here.
I have forwarded your complaints to the relevant department in DBKL. It is hope that DBKL will take the necessary actions. Please come back to prompt me if there is no action by DBKL.
With regards to road works during office hours, which have caused massive jam in Wangsa Maju, is unacceptable. I have seen municipality workers in other big cities carrying out road works after midnight. I just do not understand why DBKL could not do the same. Common sense tells us that carrying out road works during day time will cause massive traffic jam and inconvenience to the public.
DBKL, a people unfriendly organisation, is just unreceptive to public opinion because Datuk Bandar is not elected by the people. Of course, I have been advocating Datuk Bandar to be elected by KL residents since my Bukit Bintang days. I will carry on pushing for this.
In the mean time I shall write to Datuk Bandar to complaint about this and hope that he will be awake and take note of the problem and rectify DBKL policy on road works (i.e. all road works to be carried out after midnight.
Thank you so much for your comments I do appreciate them very much.
May I take this opportunity to wish all Muslim brothers and sisters Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir Batin.
Regards
Wee Choo keong
Dear YB,
We move into Desa Putra Condo in Wangsa Maju about one and half year ago. Which then the official name of the road in front is Jalan Wangsa Perdana 3 as provided by developer and cross check with electricity bill. However, there are no road name sign until yesterday which the road name SUDDENLY become Jalan Mohd Yatim Yahya.
Many of the owner/resident here complained about this changes which we prefer the road name to remain as Jalan Wangsa Perdana 3, because we have notify every parties like bank, government department, NRIC, income tax dept, etc etc.
Just want to know whether there is any systematic procedures to name a road? Or the authority can change the road name as and when they want?
Thanks for your Kind Attention.
Regards,
Eddie Wong
Dear YB Wee,
Yes, i was caught in that traffic jam on that morning that man #46 mentioned. Closing part of the road is unacceptable during morning rush hours, and to make it worse, that’s the so-called MAIN ROAD leading to Jln Genting Kelang from Wangsa Maju.
All this boils down to DBKL’s bad planning…how come there’s no proper planning? Or could it be that DBKL just tidak apa on this issue.
On top of that, I would also like to complain on all these DBKL contractors who dug up the road. They are very good in digging up roads, and very efficient and fast too. They can dig up a road within one night/day. BUT when it comes to patching it up, sometimes it take days!!! Not only that, they just simply patch it up with shoddy workmanship. Just take a drive on this stretch of road that was mentioned by man #46 and you’ll know what i mean.
isn’t there anyone from DBKL to monitor what these contractors are doing? No supervision? Don’t tell me with such shoddy patching up, DBKL is OK with it? Come on, stop wasting public fund.
DBKL, please buck up…and don’t sleep on your job. Where’s your initiative?

tak kesian ker aku tinggal kat tingkat 4 ..selalu air masuk bila hujan..

DBKL masih tidurkah? Sila mengambil tindakan dengan segera.
Restoran RasHatini dekat trafik light Desa Setapak berhampiran Restoran BSR.
please dont use muslim user names if you are’nt a muslim.
i sense hashim words are kinda fishy.
“melanggarkan”, no offence but WE dont use melanggarkan undang-undang.
Saya dah dapat surat pengesahan penerimaan laporan.

I have seen the RasHastini Restoran, it is definitely an illegal structure, which cannot be allowed. It was just by the traffic lights.
How could DBKL allowed such an illegal structure to be erected? It is an eye sore. The DBKL/Jabatan Perancang must take immediate action to demolish such illegal structure.
Please don’t tell me that DBKL officer in Wangsa Maju office didn’t notice this illegal structure or the officers have been kaotim!
I think other restaurants operation also need to be observed, at 5pm they are already using chairs to occupy the parking (ALL parking). If you want to park there, the FOREIGN workers will come to you UNFRIENDLY asked “How long you want to park?”.
Lately, just found that they put tables and chairs in the middle of the road and virtually closed the road at 7pm. I think it endanger the customers having foods there as well as driver who want to “PUSH” thru the half closed road in front of the shop.
I think this is a bit too much, they thought (at least the workers – may be) the parking and road are rightfully belong to them after 5pm.
I think YB should highlight this to DBKL, and send officers to come to check regularly.
thanks, regards,
Eddie,
i have highlighted this “chairs and table” problem to YB many many times before.
the main problem….no enforcement from DBKL. All talk, no action. All of them close one eye, some maybe closing 2 eyes.
Look at the restaurants at Metroview shoplots. They are getting out of hand. The noise from the astro (big screen), the traffic havoc, cars park on the left and right side of the road, chairs and tables on the five-footway and roadside, Fruitstalls (like pasarmalam), etc. There is no bloody law in this area.
Maybe all these problems are just small matters to these people. But remember, small problem will lead to bigger problem.
WELCOME TO MALAYSIA.
Spot on dann but ironically YB’s office is just right above and yet nothing is being done. It is really a complicated situation.
If the hawkers are unable to get the volume for their business, it is unlikely they can sell cheap or even survive. At the same time Section 2 will just continue to suffer.
While the restaurants are able to place their tables everywhere, it also attracts other stalls to come and lay their spot. Such as those burger, kuih, bread and fruit stalls. So we get a more complex situation here.
So who is responsible to solve this situation? Anyone?
Will the right slim shady please stand up?
Anonymous,
Yeah, that restaurant is just about YB’s office. The root of the problem is that DBKL is closing both eyes on this matter. I only seen them came once to sapu A FEW TABLES belongs to the Renee restaurant. An hour later on that night, everything was back to square until today. No wonder this country will forever remain as a third world country.
However, i’m still OK with those tables and chairs provided these restaurants do not go overboard. As long as they occupy that few carpark lot in front of their restaurant, i guess most of us are still OK with it…these people also want to cari makan. we understand. However, looks like they are occupying the whole stretch of car parks, including those that are not within their compound. To make matter worse, like you said, this attracts more roadside stalls. Sooner or later, this place will be like a pasar malam and i can see that some of these stalls are not doing their part by keeping the area cleaning. Section 2 will slowly become PJ Section 17, infested with rats.
To make matter worse, some of these restaurants full blast the Astro from the big screen until late at night. I am wondering, can they do this?

Yakob,
Thanks for the offer.
But i have highlighted these problems here in the blog many many times already.
You may find my complains/issues to bring up in this section as well as in the “Issues for your MP” section.
Dear YB,
I find it is ridiculous for the developer of Wangsa Metroview Condominiums in Seksyen 2 Wangsa Maju to handle the vacant possession of the property just to prevent further late payment interest impose, however, all the column and beam of the condominiums car park in not fully done and even the flooring walkway is such a cheap cement flooring without any signage to indicate the name of the condominiums.
Is it such as being cheated by the developer when the time the keys is handed. Appreciate if MP could assist to give some press on the developer to rectify the defects and also as a benchmarks for all developers around Wangsa Maju area to make profit but in the same time to be resposible for the society and community.
Let make Wangsa Maju to be clean and lift out higher standard of living. Thank you.
Wangsa Metroview condo developer?
SIGH! I can only describe them with a big SIGH.
YB Wee should also look into this. I was told by a worker that there is a serious underground water retention underneath Metroview Condo Block B at level B5 (lift lobby area at B5).
Underground Water is seeping through the walls and the cement floor.
And the developer and condo management does not seem to be doing anything about it.
This explains the dampness on the walls and cement floor at Level B5.
I think they are waiting for a big sink hole to happen.
YB Wee, please investigate before something BIG happens.
URGENT. Pay a visit to Level B5 Block B.
Thank you.
dann
Please lodge a formal complaint with DBKL Hotline and let me have the reference number for following up actions. In the mean time I shall also lodge a complaint to DBKL about this. I do agree that teh situation has gone from bad to worst. I have advised the coffee shop owner to be considerate about blocking up the car parks and also to lower the volume of their Astro but to no avail.
So we have to leave this matter to the DBKL to handle as it is the DBKL’s responsibility to control the situation.
Kyory and Sam
Both of you are talking about the same subject matter i.e. Metroview Condo. It would be appreciated if both of you could come to my Service Centre tonight (Wednesday) after 8 pm so as to enable us to discuss about your complaints before I embark on any actions.
I look forward to meet you tonight or any other Wednesday nights provided Parliament is not in session until late night.
Thank you and good evening to all.

YB Wee,
Thank you for your help. Appreciate that.
THNX to DBKL for attending the ’surau in darkness’ that is Madrasah Iktisamiah Taman Melati. This surau compound has been in darkness for almost a year since B4 pilhanraya. Within this period this surau has lost several metres of a/cond compressor copper tubing.
Even after the 3rd visit of no action, but this time DBKL responded well just after this matter was highlighted to the attention of YB’s office – followup by En Yaacob.
With the functional street lighting in the surau compound, people surrounding can monitor any suspicious action from distance for the safety of the surau.
Also thnx to TNB team for attending and advise in the beginning stage.
special thnx to all involved
terus berkhidmat YB
I still see many coffee shops occupying the car parks. This matter has been highlighted here several times and no actions have been taken by DBKL. DBKl needs to a car ramped into the tables at the car parks and lost of lives then it will take actions. This is the problem with DBKL. DBKL can see the example (Renee Restoran) at the bottom of YB Wee’s service center.
Restoran RasHastini.
Until now no actions have been taken by DBKL. It is so obvious that Restoran RasHastini is not proper for it to be situated by the traffic light. Why DBKL didn’t bother to take actions against this Restoran. Is the Jabatan Penjaja scared of this Restoran? One of these days a car may just ramp intot he restaurant and lives will be lost then DBKL will take actions.
Since DBKL refused to take actions I hope that YB Wee will take it with DBKL and ask them why no actions have taken on these two matters.
Dear MP Wee,
Sorry for the same complaint.
The riana green construction site at wangsamaju is still very noisy until late night, starts in the evening nowadays. Sounds like they are dumping debris or something, but its very noisy and continuous. Don’t know what they are doing lah….Can hear all the way to my house…
Thank you Dato!

Hi Mr Wee
Reading from all the above complaints, let’s put the laws and regulations into places, i.e. follow according to the laws and regulations and insist DBKL to follow it and then monitor from there on.
For example, it there a rule for all the business to place tables and chairs at the car park, can there be a store just set up from nowhere at the pedestrian walk, loud noise after 12pm – is this agst. disturbing the peace of the environment. etc ….
You as the lawyer should be able to guide us better in terms of laws and regulations.
Concerned Residents just waiting for your quick action before anything happen …
Prevention better than cure
Wangsa Maju Resident,
There is law in malaysia. Just lack of ENFORCEMENT, if enforcement ever exists in Msia.
Why lack of enforcement?
Due to the Tidak apa attitude?
Due to laziness?
Due to lack of initiative?
Close one eye?
Close both eyes?
I don’t know. Can someone enlighten me?
Wangsa Maju Resident & dann
I am aware of the complaints about coffee shop owners occupying the car parks with their tables and chairs. This has deprived members of the public parking spaces and secondly there are elements of danger for the public.
Please be assured that I have duly complained to DBKL about this and the officers promised actions soon. If there is no actions from DBKL for the next 10 days I shall bring this matter to the attention of Datuk Bandar.
Thank you for expressing your concerns.
Happy New Year to you all and your respective family.
Hi Dann
You’re right …
————-
Mr Wee, need your quick action as the residents can feel fed up with the environment in Wangsa Maju, pls do something fast … we need to immediate action … as you can see the all the cars parked at the side road have been blocking … in case emergency … ambulance etc can pass thru also … all of the parking is due to the shops operate in wangsa Maju …
Thks
Wangsa maju resident,
Yes, i had the same thought. What if one day a BOMBA fire-engine need to speed over to Desa Setapak during an emergency case? I don’t think a the fire engine is able to squeeze through those cars that are parked on both sides of the road…narrowing down to a one tiny lane road.
Mr Wee,
Another issue I would like to ask. Is DBKL going to patch up the whole stretch of Jln Genting Kelang (TAR College stretch > MRR2)? The condition of this road is so bad…holes everywhere and that stretch of road was dug up few months ago. Patch up was done badly by that contactor.
Dear YB Wee,
Can you please look into the streetlights in the early morning at Jln 34/26, from Carrefour to Tmn Sri Rampai. 6.45-7.00 am. still very dark, but the authority had set the streetlight to auto-switch off too early. 6.45am already off the light. The road become very dark. Pity & dangerous for the pedestrian walking at the roadside especially school chidren going to school in Sri Rampai (secondary & primary). As u know, the traffic also are heavy that time as all residents are rushing to work.
Thank you.
the DBKL didn’t show up as u said in 10 days
4jan-14jan
I’m so disappointing
Correct. DBKL still haven’t show up to take action against those irresponsible restaurant owners.
Another matter, is DBKL planning to patch up the main Wangsa Maju road (from MRR2 >> Selangor Pewter)?? The road condition is extremely BAD! Especially the stretch in front of the new TNB building.
Fed up.
Hi Mr Wee
We believe in you … and that’s why we choose you to be our MP …
Let’s walk your talk….
Thanking you in advance … don’t make us lose hope in you as well as PKR.
Dear En. Wee,
I would like make a few complain nearby my area and my block it self.
The complains are as follows’:-
1. Build illegal extension in front and back of their houses.
a. Address of the houses is 103 & 104 Block C3, Section 2.(Their illegal occupied children playground area as well)
2. Children playground equipments are broken and not been replace.
3. Parking line no longer visible at car park near to Block C1, C3 and C4.
4. We need more lights at the car park area.
I could highly appreciate that En. Wee can takes up with DBKL to solve this above problems.

sekian,terima kasih . . .
Hello Mr Wee
Gong Xi Fa Cai to you & family
Hope you can take action on our complaints after CNY

Dear YB, (ATTN, PLEASE!! THANK YOU.)
Would be grateful for your attention why the name of the main road off Desa Putra Condominium be changed 3 times (in less than 8 months). I shifted to Desa Putra some time in mid-2008 and the name of the road was some numbered road “Jalan ??/??” like most roads in Wangsa Maju is. And then it changed to No. Jalan Wangsa Perdana 3, and before the year-end it was Jalan Mohd. Yatim Yahya (I googled and found out that it was in honour of Malaysia’s first Surveyor-General – even the name spelt was wrong – should be Yahaya), and now after New Year, I noticed yesterday that they have named it Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1. I am very puzzled why the frequent name change – does your office know about this? Who takes the authority and in charge of it? DBKL? Grateful for your comments.
P/S: pls also refer to Mr. Eddie Wong’s comment above dated 10 October 2008.

I have already forwarded your complaints to DBKL for actions.
I am shocked with the road name for the same road have been changed for 3 times. This is a joke. Last few months, DBKL change the road name from Jalan Alor to Jalan Kejora. After public protest, DBKL changed it back to Jalan Alor. It would appear that DBKL officers, especially in Jabatan Kerja Awam or the relevant department have got nothing better to do so they start to think of such nonsense in order to show that they are doing hell of a great job.
Datuk Bandar should take note that if his officers are so free, they should be ordered to go around Wilayah Persekutuan to check for potholes and patch them up. At least members of the public will be grateful for such good efforts!
We should get a reply soon. Please bear with me.
Lastly, thank you so much “wangsa maju resident” for your kind wishes. May I take this opportunity to wish all Malaysian Chinese good health, a Happy & Prosperous Chinese New Year. Gong Xi FA Cai to all Malaysians.
May I also wish other Non-Chinese good health and have a pleasant holiday.

I am residents living opposite the Pasar Malam at Danau Kota. I can no longer tolerate with the noise it generates till 4 – 5 am in the morning. Now I see that this pasar malam has gone bigger and bigger outside the field into the side road. car owner simply parked their cars right in front of my gate and other resident gates. We are unable to go into our house. It seems that there is no law and order in this Pasar Malam.
Further, we have mat rempit riding their bikes with loud exhaust disturbing our peace at night.
I have never heard that a pasar malam do business until early in the morning. This may be good for the traders but it cannot be good for people of Wangsa Maju. It seems that DBKL is encouraging people to lepak until the early hours. How can this be good for the KL residents.
I hope that our MP, YB Wee, will take up this big problems with Datuk Bandar so that their licences will be canceled for the residential areas and move to some where else.
No pasar malam in residential areas until early hours in the morning.
Dear Sir:
Hi Sir:
perhaps i’ll like to introduce myself first , i am jack , a resident of danau kota for the past 7 years, the neighbourhood has been peaceful and clean ,
recently (about few years ago) suddently a bazaar (huge scale of pasar malam) appear near by our lovely home, it does create havoc/polution/noise/in-convenient for us , the resident.
imagine , at 1am , u’ll be stuck in a jam 1km away from your house and it tooks you half hour to reach home, best part is , some moron park their car blocking you from opening your gate, when you are about to sleep at 2 am , a gang of rempit rev their bikes and makes tons of noise, ofcourse on and off with some modded car too, when you look thru your windows , u’ll be mistaken if you are at home or genting due to the heavily air polution created by non stop traffic infront of your house, ok … so if you are lucky to sleep at 4 am , wake up and found out your front door are full of rubbish/left over food/ broken glass. things has getting from bad to worst.
we’ve done initial report of all those issues to danau kota/ibu kota police station ., guess what ?? its not their area of responsible, DBKL approve the bazaar, but then why it can be build so near to housing area?? sufficient parking ? will it affect nearby resident???we’ve try to reach DBKL, but hell no answer from them , its like a has to be done thingy,
do drop a visit on friday/sat nite at arround 1am , and you’ll be felt real lucky for not staying in danau kota .

I fully agree with Lim and jack about the bad conditions in pasar malam danau kota.
DBKL Hawkers Department kept issuing licences without control. The situation in Danau Kota is very very bad.
Rowdy and noisy.
dirty
traffic congestion
How cold DBKl allow pasar malam to operate until 4 am in the morning. If operating until morning then the pasar malam should be moved to areas far away from the residential areas. This pasar malanm in danau kota is very near to the residential areas.
DBKL must take some action to stop the noise pollution and clear the dirt and traffic congestion.
just wrote a e mail to , i really getting nuts bcs of the pasarmalam , it drive me crazy , guys , please drop this guy an e mail , so that they atleast can HEAR our LITTLE VOICE.

Please refer to above few photo i taken everyday after 11pm , it is like a standard procedure for stranger car to park infront of your gate WITHOUT leaving phone number and considerate , we , as a resident in danau kota , are we SUPPOSE to GET USED TO IT ?did DBKL knows about this ? or DBKL PRETENT did not know ANY PROBLEM causes by the pasarmalam EVERYDAY ?????
i know there are many neighbour already complaint about many issue and problem causes by the pasar malam , its there any ACTION taken by DBKL?? so far i seen NONE.
First thing first ,
1. Should a pasar malam operate so near to resident area? (less then 50meter ) from the first house .
2. Should a pasar malam operate until early morning???
3.Have DBKL send authority to monitor the situation ?
4.the pasar malam already causes many problem for resident in danau kota, polution , criminal case , and inconvenient . theres only one way to settle this issue once and for all , PLEASE MOVE IT TO ALTERNATE PLACE WHERE WE DO NOT WELCOME THEM .
thank you and please take action ASAP

Thank you so much for your comments. I have forwarded your comments/complaints to Tuan Khairul, the DBKL Pengurus for Wangsa Maju and copy it to Tuan Hj Shaari , the Special Assistant to Datuk Bandar. So far they have acknowledged receipt of your comments.
Lets give DBKL until next week for reply on the matter. I shall follow up and keep you informed of the development.
Thank you.

Dear YB,
I would like to express our (DP Residents) sincere gratitude to you for helping us to forward our complaint to DBKL on the road name of Jalan Wangsa Perdana.
DBKL has changed half of the road to Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1, and Jalan Mohd Yatim Yahya (yahaya) remained for the stretch from Jln Jelatek traffic light junction till LRT Station (which suppose to connect to Jusco side).
Desa Putra Management also checked with DBKL on Jalan Wangsa Perdana 3, which is the short road from Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1 to Desa Putra Condo.
Hope this will clarify Rahayati’s doubts.
Thank you, YB.
We have another complaint need your help.
Please help us to ask DBKL to order the Construction Company of SRI RAMPAI LRT STATION to stop work on Sunday and Public Holiday.
Thanks.

I am living around the Danau Kota area and I do agree that Danau Kota is not a suitable place for allowing a pasar malam to operate nightly until 4 am. No doubt the pasar malam has caused problems and untold miseries to the residents like Jack, abdullah and others. I fully sympathise with the residents.
DBKL must be people friendly. DBKL must agree that Pasar Malam that operating nightly must be away from the residential area. If it is near to the residential area the operating hours must not be later than 12 midnight as it will no doubt disturb the residents.
Secondly, to allow the pasar malam to operate until 4 am DBKL is encouraging the rakyat to lepak, which is no good to society and creates more social problems.
I am glad that this problem has gained the attention of our MP Wee. I hope that MP Wee will take this matter to the attention of the Datuk Bandar for actions.
Thank you.
Hi YB WEE:
No matter whats the outcome/result ,i’m sincerely thank you for your response and action towards the pasar malam issue in danau kota , i appology if i used any harsh word, please be understanding of living with the same probelm everynight !!..
obviously , YB WEE are the only limelight A.K.A the HOPE, these problem occured many year already , previously , those YB are UNREACHABLE!!!…. which cause an attitude of ” AIYA , complaint also no use , then what for complaint ??? waste time only .!!”… seems like theres a CHANGE in setapak . which we are very glad to see .
Again . thank for the hardwork and attending of the problem … cheers.

I know that Danau Kota Psaar Malam problem were not created by YB Wee but the previous MP, Yew Teong Look, who moved the pasar malam from Section 2 to Danau Kota without taking into consideration of the residents of the area.
I am glad that YB Wee is willing to take it up on behalf of the residents. I am sure that YB Wee will take these matters to the attention of the Datuk Bandar.
We just cannot allow a pasar malam operating nightly until 4 am in the residential area. DBKL must move the pasar malam to another area so that it will not disturb the residents. Further pasar malam should not operate until 4 am. It should stop at 12 mid night.
I am surprised that DBKL officer could not see that the danau Kota Pasar malam is disturbing the residents there. How could you have a pasar malam operating until 4 am in a residential area? Datuk Bandar please use your brain to think for the moment!
How could the DBKL officer could not see that the mamak restaurant opposite the danau kota pasar malam occupying at least 20 parking lots. By the way the mamak restaurant is opposite YB Wee’s service centre.
YB Wee, you should point out to DBKL about this. Just look outside from the window of your service centre and I ma sure you will see how this mamak restaurant used many parking lots to put its tables and chairs.
DBKL will never see such things because they have been taken care of I think!
Hello YB Wee,
I am a resident of Metroview Condo and my unit is facing directly at the shoplots.
This problem started few nights ago.
The empty shoplot on the first floor (just next to the shoplot you used to use as your Service Centre) has been rented out or sold to some buyers. Few nights ago, their contractors would only start renovating that shoplot from late evening onwards and this will go on until late night. Last night they renovated that place until way past 12 midnight! Very noisy. Drilling and hammering.
YB, can they do this; renovating at these hours?
Please help. I am beginning to hate this place.
Hello again YB,
SIGH!! The banging and drilling in that shoplot just started; 8.30pm.
Correction: The shoplot is 2 shops next to your former service centre, 1st floor.
Very inconsiderate selfish people. Start the renovation at night, and go on until midnight.
Bastards.
CLK
Of course, renovation works should not be carried out at night when the premises is near to residential houses. Please let me have the exact address and I will try my best to lodge a complaint to DBKL. In the mean time I shall my best to get DBKL to stop the renovation at night.
Jack, KH Lim & Ahmad
Please be informed that I have officially lodged a complaint regarding the problems caused by Danau Kota Pasar Malam. I have received confirmation from Datuk Bandar office that it has received my said letter. I hope to hear from them in the very near future.

Hi YB,
Thank you for your prompt reponse.
I do not have the exact address at this moment. But i can tell it’s 2 shoplots away from your previous service centre in Metroview shoplots, which is the 3rd unit from the left (1st floor, same level as your previous service centre).
The time now is about 11.30pm, and they are still drilling, sawing and hammering.
Dear CLK
Please let me have the exact address tomorrow so that I could inform DBKL accordingly. I need the exact address because I cannot afford to make mistake. I hope you will understand my predicament.
Good night.

Lot No.19-1, Metroview shoplots.
Last night the hammering, drilling and sawing went on until close to 12.45midnight.
I have taken video clips on the shoplot. Just don’t know how to send to you, the file size is big, 13MB.

Thank you for your info. I will do my best to inform DBKL of your predicament. It is most unfortunate that these people are so inconsiderate.

Dear Readers,
I have been informed by Tuan Khairul, the Pengurus in DBKL office in Wangsa Maju, that actions have been taken against those coffee shop owners or hawkers occupying the public car parks in various parts of Wangsa Maju. Two days ago, DBKL have confiscated the tables and chairs occupying the car parks in the Danau Kota area.
CLK
I have lodged the complaint regarding renovations works have been carried out until after late at night with DBKL on your behalf. DBKL is doing its preliminary investigation (i.e whether the owner has applied for approval from DBKL and etc) and the officer has promised to take the necessary actions soon.
Please send an email to me at weeck@streamyx.com if the said renovation works persisted until late in the night.
Thank you.

What about at Wangsa Maju Section 2 & your previous office side, Metroview …. which some of the bloggers & me have been expressing to you so long ago … pls get DBKL to close all the shops that insist to put all the tables and chairs @ parking lots … or get DBKL to pull all the car away that have been parked at the roadside that caused the road to become so narrow …
and so dangerous …. some of them also park to corner junction …. what is this !!!
Pls help us to organize the life in Wangsa Maju

sometime we cant expect the shop to not put the table and chair on the parking bay.(for example shop like BRJ or plus plus-the shop inside was too small and can afford 20-30 ppl)
What I can suggest is we give 3 parking lots to those shop to put those table and chair and they are not allow to put their stall on the road as what happening to Plus Plus restaurant.
Do cross in my mind that wangsa maju should have a pusat penjaja so we can place all those hawker stalls together.
Dear YB Wee
In The Starmetro news on Feb 12, 2009 an illegal telecommunication (telco) tower built in Jalan Sri Hartamas 1 was brought down by DBKL when the residents complaint. There was also a picture of the telco tower.
Now I noticed that a similar tower was built 100m from the Section 2 Market by the side of the walk pavement. I’m wondering if it is the similar illegal tower that was dismantled at the Segambut constituency mentioned in The Star paper above.
I am concerned and hope YB can check and ensure it is a legal structure as it would endanger motorists and passers-by if is an illegal one as to whom the victim can claim compensation if an unwanted accident occurs due to improper construction or would it have any impact to the health of nearby residents.
Thank you.

hi there YB Wee.I would like to comment on few things which happens in this Wangsa Maju and neighbouring area of it.
1. The dug roads done by DBKL is simply freakin annoying, because when they dig the long long stretch along jln. genting klang, they FAIL, simply FAIL to patch back in a good, leveled-up way, without any potholes..!Why cant they do it properly when every road work is finished? It is very annoying cause the car condition gets worsened, driving along this stretch.
2. Parking problems EVERYWHERE in Wangsa Maju area. and there is new development near the Carefour area??..omg..is DBKL or simply local KL goverment blind to see that there is over-development in Setapak area?…
nearly every single place is sardine packed with cars due to lack of parking space. Why dont they destroy some illegal structures around Desa Setapak and build some multi level car-park??.is it too much work to be done, when just few years back , another new condo called “metroview” erected,, just beside dat heavily traffic desa setapak area. Also to point out, if there is a good, ample multi-level car park around Desa Setapak, people will be so comfortable to use LRT and just park their cars over there. Also it helps to “neat” the whole desa setapak area, which is full of cars everytime n everywhere!!
3. And Jln. Genting Klang (JGK) is simply horrific to pass thru during peak or non- peak hours. Too many opening for cars to enter into JGK and it causes slow movement of traffic. I suggest for the opening of road from nearby Pizza Hut is closed up.Because cars from there crossing over, causes a halt in traffic, which goes towards da city centre.
4.It all boils down to better, more efficient PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!!!!!!LRT is just perfect and convienient to go to kl city or until pj/kj area.BUT the BIGGEST headache is the linking RAPID KL busses. They just LOVEEEE to wait for passengers at the station for so long, until it makes the lrt ride inconvienient. Can u imagine people rushing for work and have to wait in the bus for hours? Why cant they have small mini- busses which we used to have in the 90’s which were so convienient and fast?It is very practical to have them at lrt stationb because every train reaching Wangsa Maju will “release” loads of people in Wangsa Maju” station and mini-busses will really help as they can move faster and cover many areas around WM so that the others waiting at the lrt for bus wont be too long.
5.And i guess there is road-widening along Jln.Gentin Klang?well, just to suggest, can they build some underground entrance point to each of those small small exit area from JGK? like an underground road leading to Setapak Jaya? or Road leading to TAR college?
6. The area around “uptown danau kota” is very annoying coz people park their cars haphazardly over there. Why cant they have it elsewhere?Have it maybe nearby the filed at KWSP there, since there is less shops and not many houses there?
6. Finally thnx for all those work done by you, YB WEE for this area, because i can see difference in this area, since u took over :P
Thank you
Yours SIncerely,
Justin

Dear YB,
to add on what Justin said, perhaps DBKL should look at building multi-storey carpark, or just some damn car park for Wangsa Maju in those area Justin mentioned.
All I can see is overcrowding – yeah higher assessment fee and quit rent collection is the aim without balancing the car park consideration. Some one in DBKL planning department is not doing any math!
Hello all. This is my first time posting here.
Yow Yuen: “sometime we cant expect the shop to not put the table and chair on the parking bay.(for example shop like BRJ or plus plus-the shop inside was too small and can afford 20-30 ppl)”
When you want to run a makan business in these shoplots, you already expect that the shop can only accommodate 20-30 people (like you said). No excuse for them to break the law just because of greed. Want to accommodate more people, buy or rent a bigger restaurant.
If every restaurant owners here think like that, the whole parking lot or roadside will be occupied with tables and chairs. And that is what happening in Sec2 now.
YB Wee, Wangsa Maju Resident is right. What is DBKL going to do with the restaurant at your previous office side? All talk, no action (as usual lah in Malaysia). No more excuses from DBKL, just do it. Unless something hanky panky between them and the restaurant owners. I don’t know, you tell me.
And 3 nights ago, i witness one almost near-accident, because the road is too narrow (cars parked 2 sides of the road). So what is DBKL is waiting for? Accident to happen first? someone to die first? All talk, no action.
Justin,
The parking problem in Desa setapak and Sec2 is also caused by the restaurant owners. The greedy and law braking one. Taken all the car parks to put tables and chairs.
Justin, Lee Wee Tak & Lee
Parking Prolems:
I have forwarded your complaints to DBKL officer for actions. I know that DBKL did take actions at various places. The problem is that after DBKL took actions the cofffee shop owners will put up their table and chairs again. DBKL officers cannot be expected to be placed in the areas all the times.
I am thinking of suggesting to DBKL to withdraw the premise licence of the coffee shop owners who placed tables and chairs at the parking lots. This is the only way such practices will be stopped before accidents happened. Do you all agree?
With kindest regards
wee choo keong
Dear YB,
the coffee shop owners can consider renting the 1st floor as an addition to their coffee shops. Yes, this would add to their cost but then it would increase the take up rate of the shoplots, free up parking space etc. Look at the Chinese restaurant next to the Old Town below your service centre who does just that.
What we need will be clear guidelines and strict & consistent enforcement.
YB Wee,
“The problem is that after DBKL took actions the cofffee shop owners will put up their table and chairs again. DBKL officers cannot be expected to be placed in the areas all the times.”
This is not a very good excuse. And if DBKL is give you this reason (EXCUSE), then they must resign from their job because they are not efficient and effective. Why Singapore can do it?
I tell you why. Because of tidak apa attitude of our authorities, lazy, never follow up, do one time is enough, etc.
Like you say, gantung their license, saman them heavily, take more serious punishment on them. Then only they will learn and fear. I agree with this punishment.
Thank you.
how about DBKL or police build a mini police or DBKL station at wangsa maju?
Like what the police station in front McDonand Jalan Bukit Bintang functioning.
yow yuen
agree with building a DBKL station. We have a police station opposite Jaya Jusco. Taman Melati needs more policemen to add on to the existing thin numbers. Don’t sure about Wangsa Melawati.
We should also be having a post office as the only one now is inside Carrefour
Hello YB,
What a timing, just as we talked about restaurant taking parking space to put tables and chair, TheStar Metro wrote about it:

“Hogging of parking lots
By TAN KARR WEI
Parking space is scarce in the Klang Valley and some motorists spend valuable time going round and round getting a spot. Some people are adding to the problem by hogging these lots. StarMetro visited several areas in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya to see the situation first-hand.
karrwei@thestar.com.my
PARKING, or the lack of it, has always been a problem in Petaling Jaya.
At commercial areas, the problem worsens during working hours as some shop owners or business operators have put up barriers to “reserve” the parking lots.
The culprits are mostly car repair shops that have one rented lot from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) but reserve the other lots to accommodate their customers.
They would put items like traffic cones, small signboards or even plastic containers at the lots to prevent the public from parking there.
From 5pm onwards, food outlets would start to do the same either to reserve parking for their customers or to place tables and chairs.
Businessman Kamal Harun, 40, said these irresponsible people were depriving the public of parking spaces.
“To start with, there is a lack of parking space in commercial areas like Damansara Uptown and SS2. This leads to the double and triple parking menace that many have resorted to doing,” said Kamal.
He appealed to the MBPJ to step up enforcement to prevent the parking lots from being hogged.
MBPJ public relations officer Zainun Zakaria said those who wanted to rent the seasonal lots must apply to the council.
“Usually, they can apply for one lot but it also depends on the type of business and the location of the lot applied for,” she said.
The lots could be rented for loading and unloading of goods and entrance to car repair or service shops.
A temporary rental will be granted for renovation work or storage of construction materials.
Parking spaces that have been rented out will be painted with red lines with the file reference number.
“There have been cases where shop owners have painted the red lines on their own. If we get reports, the enforcement department will be notified and they will take action,” Zainun said.
She said car repair shops were not allowed to put barriers on parking lots and they must rent them from the council if they require the extra lots.
There are about 160 parking lots that have been rented out in PJ, accounting for 7.3% of the total number of lots.”
So will DBKL do something about it in this place Wangsa Maju Section 2?
Dear DBKL officer (if you are reading this),
Are you going to take similar action in Wangsa Maju Section 2? Or still waiting for something to happen first?

No place for cars in the city
By PRIYA MENON

priya@thestar.com.my
FINDING a parking spot in Kuala Lumpur has become difficult of late.
Adding to the lack of space are irresponsible restaurant and workshop operators who “book” Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) parking lots for their customers.
A drive around Klang Valley proved that in more places than one, people are searching in vain for parking spots.
Places like Bangsar, Brickfields, Desa Sri Hartamas and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman are just some of the places with this problem.
By day, restaurants and workshops hog several parking spots for their customers while at night, pubs, clubs and mamak shops take over these places.
For John Guo, 32, going to Desa Sri Hartamas is almost a nightmare as finding a parking spot has become more difficult lately.
“Finding a spot in this area is so difficult, especially in the afternoon. It is not fair that these people book spots only for their customers,” he said. He added that he had given up going to Hartamas as it was not worth the trouble anymore.
“These days, I only go there when absolutely necessary,” he added. Azrina Alias, 29, said the selfish behaviour of some restaurants and pub owners was not only prevalent in hot spots like Bangsar and Hartamas but also all over KL.
“It is selfish on their part. Everyone has a right to that parking lot. To add insult to injury, some bars and clubs have bouncers watching the parking lots for them at night,” said the lecturer.
She said that these bouncers scare off the drivers who wanted to park in the area.
“I believe the DBKL is doing its job but it may not be enough to check this problem,” Azrina added.
Student Raynuga Chan, a frequent visitor to Brickfields, said the irresponsible behaviour of some might cost other businesses in the area to lose their customers and source of income.
“They have to take into account that there are other businesses on the same row,” she said.
“They cannot hog the parking lots that has been designated for the public. If they want to do so, then they must pay for it,” she added.
She said workshops might not have a choice in the matter as they needed the work space but they should also pay for the lots.
According to a DBKL official, the illegal booking of parking lots is an ongoing problem.
He said the rent per parking lot in the city centre was RM210, while elsewhere the charges were RM157.50.
“Those who usually ask us for parking lots are car accessories shops, mechanics, banks as well as shops that need to load and unload goods,” the official said.
He added that DBKL studieds each application carefully.
“We visit the site and take photographs to ensure that the request is a valid one,” he said.
He also said DBKL conducted enforcement checks periodically based on complaints from the public.”
Dear YB Wee
I’ve written on February 22 about the telco towers. Had been awaiting for your response.
Noted that it’s top has now been closed and also a clock has been added to the tower over the last 3 days. Sounded so similar to the news published in The Star about building of a clock tower which is actually an illegal Telco tower.
Hope to hear from you soon. Good Day.

Hi YB
Just ask DBKL to follow the rules and take corrective action, like if the shop put chairs and tables @ parking lots, just confiscate and fine the owner heavily. DBKL to visit the area every week, etc. On cars parking @ road side, DBKL to put notice board that car will be tow away to DBKL warehouse without further notice, if the owner want to claim back their car fine them like $500.00.
You can highlight to DBKL beside from getting respect from the residence for enforcing the law, they can also earn direct money from offenders. DBKL will then respected and a lot of money to do better things for the people…
Laws need to put in place to take care offenders … period …
Please assist without delay as we do not want to see any death due to the car park at the roadside …
Hello Wangsa Maju Resident,
I agree with you.
But you should know, DBKL. If they really want to do their job properly and follow all rules and law, they would had do it long time ago. No need us to waste our time complaining here never ending. You know how authorities work in this country. We are not talking about Singapore, we are talking about MALAYSIA.
Dear YB Wee
It is most unfortunate for a young man whose not only his belongings but also his life had been robbed away by the ruthless robbers yesterday night. The incident happened at the lane beside the SK Wangsa Maju Seksyen 2 school. Apparently, the deceased young man was walking back to his rented home after work around 9pm when he was been robbed and stabbed. Really sorry for the grieving family. You may read the news in China Press posted for tomorrow (March 1).
During the previous MP’s time, there was also a victim being robbed and slashed at the same lane.
We checked out the said lane tonight. While driving through upon reaching the middle part of the lane near the rubbish house, it is really dark.
We have been hearing cases of residents being robbed and handbags being snatched at this lane. However, to some people whom are new tenants to the area may not be aware as they are normally from outstations and usually being the victims.
Something ought to be done to the dark part of the lane. Do really take a short drive through the said lane at night and see for yourself.
Hi YB Wee
So scarry … to live in Wangsa Maju … please help urgently … let’s form more security within our area … like getting the police to do patrol like in Hong Kong … even at night …
Can you suggest in the parliment to get the reserve army that are in the camp out to patrol with the police … since we need more security … in addition … can you suggest to home Ministry without delay to send all the foreigner home … and get the local to work …
Pls help us without delay
Thks
i think the community has suffered long enough and and definitely the police and DBKL are for one reason or another have failed to provide adequate security.
It’s time for the caring and responsible citizens of Wangsa Maju to oranize ourselves to reduce the criminals activities through positive campaigns and security walks. Let’s do it now when we have a caring MP with us who can lead us through the current mess.
Thomas Ong, Wangsa Maju Resident & Michelle Wee
I do share your concern over rising crime rate in Wangsa Maju. I have tabled questions relating to rising crime rate in Wangsa Maju and other parts of Malaysia in every Parliamentary Session. I am really disappointed with the standard answers from the Minister of Home Affairs. Please go to the archive of my Parliamentary questions and check.
Rising crime rate is a national problem which requires political will of the Federal Government to address. Unfortunately, this is not a priority for the government. I shall do my best to knock some sense into their heads these two weeks where the Ministers will be replying to the points brought up during the Debate on the Royal Address.
Please be also informed that I have been calling upon DBKL to put up more street lighting especially in areas which are dark. I have been getting stupid answers like no budget for 2008 or waiting for response from various DBKL departments. I shall use this murder case to impress upon Datuk Bandar to take the necessary actions to light up dark and life-threatening places as soon as possible.
I shall also discuss with the police on what other actions can be taken to keep crime rate low in Wangsa Maju.
I shall keep you all informed of the development of this matter.
In the interim, my condolence to the family of the deceased.
With kindest regards,
wee choo keong
anything the army can do? we have a BIG Wardieburn camp here and surely the solders can patrol the streets. Heck, it can be training for UN peace keeping mission.
we have a huge set of troops in WM and they just sit on their butts where people who feed them via tax money are cut up right in front of their base.
perhaps YB can get the PDRM and the army to draw up some kind of patrol arrangement. Of course the relevant legislation must be considered as well.
Thomas Ong, Michelle Wee and Lee Wee Tak
Thank you so much fro your comments.
I have contacted DBKL/ Datuk Bandar Office pertaining to the problems. The Datuk Bandar office is taking this matter very seriously. At least it is taking this matter seriously with no esxcuses like before where I have been told that DBKL has no budget and etc.
I have been asked by Datuk Bandar Office to give the exact locations of the dark areas in Wangsa Maju so that DBKL can take immediate actions to brighten up the areas.
Perhaps the residents could help by informing me that exact locations where they should be brighten up so as to enable me to bring to the attention of DBKL for immediate actions.
I look forward to hear from you all soon.
Thank you.

I suggest YB start with regular safety patrol every Saturday say from 12-4 am with token police presence …
then maybe we could figure out where to go from there, in terms of future action…
if we keep talking to Pak Lah, IGP and Albar fella… we get nowhere while the residents continue to suffer robberies etc.. let’s do it…
Dear YB Wee
Thank you very much for the prompt response. I can surely help in making some rounds around WM Section 2 over the next few nights to look out for any dark areas that requires extra lightings and will provide you with the exact locations.
I also be checking with some of the residents, too. Will get back to you soonest possible.
The residents would definitely be grateful for the attention and concern that you have given.
Thomas Ong
just to add another comment on the other. PLease don’t just do something and after a while forget to upkeep it. Like the last time, after the incident, everyone become so hardworking in showing the community they are patroling the place. But most people know that is for a temporary show, and really it is. We are not asking for a big show, we are asking for a long term and effective in curbing this serious problem. Or else soon, wangsa maju will be label as a murderer ground. And i am very sad, the impact seem getting lesser. Wonder will one day, people get killed so often until even no people want to bother to read the news. I hope it won’t happen here.
xenos,
Agree with you.
Most of the things the authorities do is just hangat hangat tahi ayam.
For example, few years ago, when one man was killed when eating at the stall by the roadside in PJ, tables and chairs in the car park because the car ram into them. After this case, polis, DBKL, authorities, menteris all make noise. Say want to ban tables and chairs put at roadside and carpark.
Few years later, the tahi ayam is not hangat anymore. Look at W.Maju Section 2. Sigh!

I have already called up the office of Datuk Bandar and written an official letter to Datuk Bandar to inform you about the increased in crime rate in Wangsa Maju and there are too many dark areas, which had to be brighten up as a first step to reduce crime in Wangsa Maju. I have already identify several dark spots and Bandar Raya is looking into thsi matter.
I have also spoken to YB Datuk Zulhasnan, the Minister for Wilayah Persekutuan, and he was very receptive about htis matter and combating crimes in general. The Minister has also informed me that he had also instructed Bandar Raya to take immediate actions to brighten up dark spots in Wangsa Maju.
I need your help. Please let me know the dark spots in your area by sending to me email and I will notify DBKL immediately.
I have also spoken to the Minister of Home Affairs regarding increased crime rate in Wangsa Maju and as a first step I asked the Minister to recruit more police officers for Wangsa Maju and more police petrol. The Minister told me that he will look into my requests. I know that some of you have no faith in the Minister of Home Affairs but we have no choice as he is in charge of the police force and internal security of the country.
I have also brought the attention of the Inspector Kawasan of Wangsa Maju about the increased crime rate and asked him to send out more police officers on the beat and to patrol Wangsa Maju.
Please be informed that during every session of Parliament I tabled question on security in Wangsa Maju and other parts of the country because I strongly feel that we need to make crimes public enemy No.1.
As a first step, we should brighten up dark spots in Wangsa Maju as dark spots encourage criminal activities.
Thank you and dood night.
Wee Choo Keong
I don’t noe whether it work or not. Bt will it be possible, YB you organise some patrol done by the people in wangsa maju. Can recruit volunteer to do this on shift. I know this is a bit old fashion, a i read this in the old time moral story . But if waiting for the police or whatever, i frankly said, i don have hope, also i am very fed up with hangat hangat tahi ayam.(only serious a while and after that forget or done nothing). This is a very bad mentality in msia, when something bad happen, we start to do something, after a while everything back to normal. This can be seen in the crime in wangsa maju, landslide incident, lrt prob, transport prob………….no wonder we so far from singapore, please don wait until even indonesia, vietnam to overtake us.
Hello YB Wee,
Thank you for highlighting this matter to the Datuk Bandar.
What about the carpark table chair problem? Did you highlight to him also? So many weeks already, nothing done about this problem. Very bad. DBKL all talk, no action. What is taking them so long?
Xenos
Security of a constituency or country is not an easy task. It needs the political will of the government to contain it. I have been bringing up the issue of security in every session of Parliament but I don’t see positive actions from the government. I only get standard replies from the Home Minister that the police is taking all actions to control crime. But crime rate is increasing every day due to the bad economic climate. I will carry on to push this matter in Parliament. I will have another chance to talk about this during the mini Budget debate, which is coming up for debate next week.
Please rest assured that I am very concerned about the crime rate in Wangsa Maju and other parts of Malaysia. Patrolling the place is a good suggestion but as normal citizen we have limited resources and no statutory power to take actions to prevent crimes. In the interim, I will take up this matter with the OCPD Sentul to contain the security problems.

As for the tables and chairs being placed on the car park lots by the irresponsible coffee shop or restaurant owners, I have brought to the attention of the Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan in Parliament a few days ago. The Minister was very receptive and informed Parliament that DBKL will take the necessary actions on this matter.
Please let me know the exact name and location of these coffee shop and restaurant owners, who placed tables and chairs on parking lots, and I shall bring this to the attention of DBKL for actions.
I am also proposing to DBKL to withdraw their licences if they are caught placing the tables and chairs on the parking lots on the second occasion otherwise these operators will play the “cat and mouse game” with DBKL.
Please send me an email if you do know of any coffee shop or restaurant owners placing tables and chairs on parking lots so that I can informed DBKL to take the necessary actions.
Thank you.
Wee Choo Keong
YB, thank you for informing the Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan . Thank you.
Do DBKL really need the exact name of the restaurant, the location, etc? All they need to do is to pay a visit to Section 2 at night and the chairs and tables will be EVERYWHERE, I’m very sure they won’t miss it. Don’t tell me DBKL is not aware of this problem? If they are unaware, this means that they are not doing their job properly.
YB WEE :
Please refer to photo i taken just now,for your information , today is 7march 2009, and now is 12.06am friday, another inconsiderate pasar malam visitor blocking my way of going out , NO hp number leave for contact, and yes it happen EVERYNIGHT .
NOW MY QUESTION IS :
1. since the DBKL OFFICIALLY receive the complaint ONE MONTH ago , any ACTION OFFICIALLY TAKEN?
2. Any feedback from DBKL so far? (are they going to move the havoc away??)
3.i have a suggestion , why don they move to DBKL building , since theres a big car park and better enviroment ??

hi YB – thanks for the call on my setapak crime incident. I would like you to know it meant a lot. For the rest – read here –

As i’ve said – i do not plan to let it rest. Is the dialogue on every Wednesday 8pm as stated in your blog?

If you can, please list down the names of coffee shop, if possible the addresses so that I can send to DBKL. I am tired of DBKL. I have informed them on so many occasions but they took actions on a piece meal basis. Please put the list in my blog and I will ask DBKL to read it.

I do agree with you about shifting the Danau Kota pasar malam to DBKL car park, the most suitable place. I have written letters to Datuk Bandar but still no reply. I shall send reminders to Datuk Bandar over this.

Dear YB Wee
I’m been outstation lately. I’ll look into informing you of the areas that needed to be brighten up soon.
Dear YB Wee
By the way, any news on the the so-called ‘clock tower’ ?
After coming back from outstation, noticed that a crane takes partial of the road and workers are still attending to add more ‘items’ on to it. There’s no signboard for the construction and parts by parts of items are added on gradually.
Is it legal?
Dear YB,
this morning around 7:15am, I was jogging around the platinium condo area and noticed a police car driving by. Please say thank you & keep it up to Inspector Kawasan of Wangsa Maju
I hope the car was making it’s final round because the robbers’ favourite time is around 6am to 6:30am when it is still dark and less of a crowd.
Dear YB Wee
The Telco tower has now been fully dressed up into a clock tower. All the antennas are carefully hidden.
I’ve written since February 22 and that was when the tower was still being exposed. No action seems to be taken and it is approaching to 1 month since I had made the inquiry and DBKL is not going to bother!
I am still keeping the newspaper cuttings on the illegal towers that were pulled down by DBKL on those built in Jalan Sri Hartamas.
Nearby residents have raised their concern on any health impact to them as they are wary that this is a telco tower and I had informed them that your goodself has been enlightened on this.
Waiting anxiously for a response. Thank you.
Dear YB Wee
I’ve gone through Wangsa Maju Seksyen 2 and as well as Desa Setapak especially along the roads that the residents would very likely take after getting off from the LRT Station.
Starting from the lane that leads in front of SK Wangsa Maju Seksyen 2 till you reach a split road, take the one that turn to the left.
You can easily find a survellience camera installed nearby. But this camera is pointless, as the area is dark at night. Along this road until Block G19 that is facing a rubbish house we see a need of at least 2 street lights in the area.
As you go further up the lane, you will reach another split road. Also take the one that turn to the left and you will find Block G20. A street light would be appreciated at this juncture (beside Blcok G20)
Going further up, you will reach the back of a Malay Restaurant Maju Seafood that located in front of Block F1. Another light should also be installed around this area.
Do call me if you are unsure of the said location and I’ll be glad to assist. Thank you.

YB Wee,
I went to fetch my son at UTAR this morning. While I was travelling along Jalan Pahang, I saw an accident occur at the junction going to Taman Bunga Raya. I forgot to take down the name of the road at the junction. But, I can remember that is the junction after the UTAR main entrance. A car of a student was knocked and lucklily there is no injury. I hope DBKL can do something like Traffic Light at this junction for the safety of the students. The traffic here is massive and they move very fast. We need your attention to get the savety precautions done.
Salam sejahtera yg berhormat,
yb,
parking lot,chairs and table problem
i’ve been watching for couple month regarding above complain.as a student at nearby collage i notice that the car park were not the problem here.but the mentality of certain people here.if i right, almost 90% student from tar or other collage nearby are using public transport.some more, most of the table or chair they were put along the sidewalk or car park never cause any trouble for “us”.even thou the table and chair were ban…i sure that things still be same.
2.most of this “place” also sell cheap food and drinks that makes us “STUDENT” and im sure most of residence here happy using the service.(at the same time this so-called lawbreaker actually helping us preventing the crime-they open, they see around).
3.and lastly, yb could u do something regarding houses or room rates here?pity us student.

Work hard to draw crowd, midnight bazaar traders told
By PRIYA MENON
The midnight bazaars are all about competition, business rivalry and hard work, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail said.
“The Danau Kota bazaars took a couple of years before they managed to become so popular, the same goes for the other places,” he said.
“Midnight bazaar traders have to ensure that their wares are different, cheaper and more worthwhile in order to draw the crowd.
“If not, people will go to other places like the pasar malam, pasar pagi and even cheap retail outlets or supermarkets,” he said when asked to comment on StarMetro’s report on March 13 headlined “No crowd at midnight bazaars”.
The report said traders blamed the inconvenient locations of the bazaars at Sentul Raya Boulevard and Jalan Damai which were not located at residential areas.
Fuad said there were several guidelines that the traders must follow in order to set up sites at the designated locations.
“The first thing is that it should be located near a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) hawker centre to promote the hawker centre as well,” he added.
Residents on the other hand complained about the lack of food at the bazaars.
Fuad said one of the reasons the bazaar was launched was to promote local products as well as provide business opportunities for traders.
“Due to this we want traders to sell, handicraft, antiques, traditional products, pre-packed food as well as fashion accessories like shoes, clothes and decorative items. No wet food is allowed in the bazaar,” he added.
When asked if the bazaar had achieved the goals the DBKL set for it, Fuad replied “Yes”.
A number of agencies like the Ipoh City Hall, Kota Kinabalu City Hall, Subang Jaya Municipal Council and the Sandakan Municipal Council have actually visited the bazaars to emulate the set up.
“The bazaars have also increased the property value and business in the surrounding areas, causing the rentals to also go up,” he said.

Judging by this piece of news, the pasar malam is going to stay for some times.
Hello Rynna, Shafiq
Understand your concern and needs as student, but what mr lee asking organize to put in order, don’t you think eating at the roadside expose to danger and dirty that also not good for you in long term. furthermore, after you have graduate you will move on with your life and start make good living for yourself, do you still consider to stay at the cramp area and dirty like you are staying in now….. mr lee just want to make things in proper …. that’s all … take care

Please increase the security in wangsa. The people are getting more violent. And they are going to be out of control, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, we really need some help. AND I REALLY MEAN LONG TERM, not a short team patroling to just show show. WE don’t want that.

Night Bazaar should not operate after 12 midnight because it will encourage the “Lepak Culture” for our youth and also disturbing the peace foe the residents nearby. DBKL should not have allowed night bazaar to operate near housing estate. I am still pursuing this matter with DBKL in the hope that operating hours will be changed.

On the issue of crimes, I have brought this matter tot he attention of the Minister of Home Affairs many times in Parliament and also the Area Inspector for Wangsa Maju.
I have met with a representative of an organisation and we hope to launch a crime prevention campaign in Wangsa Maju in April/May. At the same time I am also trying to organise a dialogue with the OCPD of Sentul police.
Once the above is finalised I will publish in my blog. Please bear with me for the moment.
Thank you and regards

Mr Wee,
“Please let me know the exact name and location of these coffee shop and restaurant owners, who placed tables and chairs on parking lots, and I shall bring this to the attention of DBKL for actions.”
Do DBKL really need the EXACT LOCATION and THE NAME OF THESE RESTAURANTS before they can take any action?
Are they acting innocent? I don’t believe DBKL is NOT AWARE of this problem.
Even the blind could see these restaurants using the carpark lots for their business.
Just tell DBKL to come to section 2 Wangsa Maju at night and have a look.
I can guarantee them they will not miss it.
YB Tuan Wee Choo Keong;
Please note that DBKL has suddenly built a concrete barricade at the traffic lights junction – Jalan Gombak leading into Medan Idaman/ Taman Setapak.
Residents traveling from KL cannot get in via this junction. Do note that this a busy junction for parents sending in their children to school daily ( Lee Rubber Primary School – approximatey 1580 students ).
I have been staying in this area for the last 43 years & have always used this junction until this evening when they have erected the barricade. Now we have to travel to the traffic lights junction turning into the Taman Ibu Kota and making a big circle to get into Medan Idaman. This is totally poor planning & absurd.
Now Medan Idaman residents cannot turn in via main road which makes no sense at all even though they are staying 50 metres from the main road but must make more than 1.5 km to come back to their home!
Taman Setapak Resident – since 1965
PLease do all you can YB, we ppl in wangsa maju will support you in any areas we can.
Hi, Mr.Wee.
Pls help to brighten up Desa Setapak area, especially those facing Tar Villa & SRK Desa Setapak, and routes than we probably walk if we take LRT.
As i walk around that area around 8.30pm yesterday, it was dark and quiet.
Thx for your efforts.
Hi W.Maju Resident 008 and others –
I would like to share my progress getting street lamps for my place – http://blog.cglow.com/?p=488
what i did was lodged a complaint to dbkl via email. i’ve got an official email acknowledgement with an “akuan terima” with a “no rujukan”.
There was a bit too much silence for comfort after that so i tried calling DBKL/JKA – but there was quite a bit of ding dong asking me to write in an official letter. I thought it was quite ironic as i’ve done that online – what’s the point of having it otherwise? I was about to follow through with a letter when the letter from DBKL followed by a Mr Zulkifli from DBKL called.
I’m still waiting for Tenaga to get me my lights. If they don’t come or take forever you will know what is my next rant in my blog about.
So i suggest you lodge an official complaint via email or letter with specifics. However, their follow-up will be via you maybe YB wck can escalate. But i would think it’s worth the hassle if it’s of a major concern to you and your neighbourhood.

As for the barricade at the junction into Jalan Meranti (entrance into Lee Rubber School), I have spoken to Jabatan Kerja Awam and have also followed up with an official letter last week about this. I am informed that the department is now studying the matter and is trying their best to resolve this matter with public safety as its priority. I should be hearing from them soon.

Please call En Yakob, my assistant, about your problems with regards to street lighting. He is looking into this matter. In fact, we have drawn up a list for DBKL to act on the street lighting. I believe DBKL has started work on the matter.

Dear YB Wee
The telco tower concern in Section 2 (near the market) which was raised on Feb 22, 2009 is now in full operation with some generators or electricity supply boxes right besides it and facing the jogging pathway.
We have not gotten any response from your goodself on the matter at all. And now believe that we have to deem it to be legal and there is nothing much that can be done unlike the similar incident that happened to Jln Sri Hartamas where the towers were found to be illegal.
Sad that we are kept in silent and there is nothing done to it at all. Sorry to have bothered you in the first place.
Dear Mr Wee,
I am wonder when can DBKL/ Jabatan Kerja Awam complete the road reconstruction along Jalan Gombak?
If I am not mistaken, they started the reconstruction few years back and until todate (3 April 2009) the work is not complete yet!!!
What is the reason???? no enough fund from government or shortage of materials??? or……

I have already tabled a question about the Jalan Gombak road construction that it took so long to complete. I have been officially informed by the then Minister for FT, YB Datuk Zulhasnan, that it will be ready by May 2009. Lets hope that it will be so. However, by the look at the situation I h ave my doubt about it being completed by May 2009.
Thank you for all of your comments. Will update you all with responds/answers from DBKL.

YB Wee,
Ada banyak masalah skang di Seksyen 2.
1. Banyak anjing liar berkeliaran , pasti akan membahayakan penduduk 1 hari nanti.
2. Penduduk yg bela anjing takde kesedran sivik biarkan anjing berak n kencing merata – rata di kawasan padang rumput sedangkan tempat itu jadi tumpuan semua lapisan kaum.
3. Tikus dah mcm sebahagian drpd penduduk seksyen 2 gamaknya. Terlalu banyak.

It is my pleasure to do what I can for you and friends (my constituents).
Please be informed that I have officially lodged a complaint with Jabatan Perancang Bandar about this illegal telco tower.
I have been informed by the DBKL Wangsa Maju officer today that an officer from Jabatan Perancang Bandar has gone to the site to inspect the telco tower. Lets wait and see what actions DBKL officers are going to take against this illegal telco tower.
Going by previous actions of Jabatan Perancang Bandar on illegal structures or structures erected without planning permission, such structures have been torn down without hesitation. I hope that Jabatan Perancang Bandar will act according to its past practices, the planning laws and tear down the illegal structures as the telco tower was also built on government land.
Lets watch out for the development of this matter. Mr Thomas Ong please keep me posted of the development of this matter in the area.
Thank you all for co-operating to make Wangsa Maju a better place for all.
Good night to all.
With kindest regards

I still remember how Jabatan Perancang Bandar (En Azlan) using several tractors, police officers and DBKL enforcement officers to tear down awnings of hawkers beside shop lots at Desa Setapak just after the General Elections in 2008.
Thew hawkers were not given any chance to remove their things. In this case against big telephone companies, I am sure that Jabatan Perancang Bandar will be dragging its feet in taking actions.
I hope that YB Wee will push for actions to demolish the telco tower, which is an illegal structure.
I would like how long it will take for Jabatna Perancang Bandar to act against big telephone company.
I will not be surprised if Jabatan Perancang Bandar dare not act against telco.
DBKL always practice double standard. One standard for the normal and poor KL residents and another for the big companies. When it comes to big companies, DBKL will be very slow in taking enforcement actions.
It seems that under the new Datuk Bandar, Datuk Fuad, there is no different when it comes to enforcement against big companies and the powerful.
YB Wee please make sure that DBKL acts against the telco immediately. YB Wee if you do not chase for actions, DBKL high ranking officers are a sleepy lot like Pak Lah. So YB Wee please wake them up for the sake of the people in Wangsa Maju and other KL residents.
DBKl departments are sleeping all the times. What is the points of paying for special squads and yet the departments do not seem to know of problems in Wangsa Maju. The officers are “gaji buta sahaja”.
Datuk Bandar should look into what are the special squads of the various departments have been doing? Datuk Bnadar should also look into the claims that the officers have made for working over times and yet so many problems have not been attended to in Wangsa Maju.
Jabatan Perancang Bandar did not seem to know of the erection of the illegal telco tower. What have the Special Squads of DBKL been doing all these while when they didn’t notice the erection of illegal tower on government land?
Jabatan Perancang Bandar must be closing their eyes for obvious reason. We all know the reason and the officers also know the reason.

Hello Semua Tutup Mata,
What you posted is true. The problem with DBKL is that they are not pro-active. Always need for us to complain and provide them with the details. For example, what Lee is complaining about the tables chairs problem. From what i read here, we need to provide DBKL with full details such as address of the restaurants, then only DBKL will take action?
Regard,

Telco Tower Issue:
Thank you all for your valuable comments. I hope that DBKL will take note of your all your comments regarding this issue.
On 10-04-2009 I had already written an official complaint to DBKL Jabatan Perancang over this illegal structure erected on government land. I have also received a CC letter from the DBKL Pejabat Kawasan Wangsa Maju to Jabatan Perancang Bandar and the 2nd paragraph of hte said letter stated:
As at this date I have not received any reply from Jabatan Perancang Bandar pertaining to this Telco Tower matter. I shall be following up this matter early next week.
Please keep me informed of any other such Telco Towers being erected in our area.
Thank you.

I hope you can mention to DBKL about feed back regarding the telco installations in Taman Bunga Raya as well.
TELCO TOWER ISSUE
Dear Friends
I have just received a letter dated 17-04-2009 from the Pengrah of Jabatan Perancang Bandar stating that the said Telco Tower is an illegal structure and that a notice dated 15-04-2009 had already issued against the Telco to demolish it within 14 days failing which the department will demolish it and all costs will be borne by the Telco concerned.
On behalf of the complainants/residents, I would like to thank the Pengrah of Jabatna Perancang Bandar, Tuan Hj Mahadi Che Ngah, for acting promptly on the complaint.
I hope that Telco will stop building towers without planning permission.

I will look into the issue highlighted by you. I have also written to DBKL over the same issue. I am still waiting for their reply.

YB Wee,
Thank you for highlighting the Telco Tower issue to the Pengarah of Jabatan Perancang Bandar DBKL. Well done.
However, the construction of the tower took place many months ago. Why only now the Jabatan Perancang Bandar noticed this ILLEGAL STRUCTURE? Again, like one of our friend here mention, no proactive action by DBKL? Always must wait for the residents to complain first?
Hopefully DBKL will improve on this area, be more pro-active and show more initiative.
Once again, thank you YB Wee for your help.
Dear YB Wee
Please be notified that the notice issued by DBKL to the Telco tower owner that you had mentioned is also pasted on the tower, the generator and the electricity supply box.
We thank YB and DBKL for the action taken and hope that DBKL will continue to follow through with the matter ensuring the Telco tower owner take the necessary action summoned by DBKL.

TELCO TOWER
Thank you for your equally quick responds. I have asked my assistant to visit the site to check and he told me yesterday that notices have been pasted on the tower.
There is no need to thank me at all. It is my pleasure to help you all in whatever ways I could. Please keep me posted of the development of this matter.
Thank you.

HARI BERTEMU PELANGGAN DBKL
last FRIDAY of MONTH i.e. 24th!!!
go and demand your dues!!!
DBKL personnel thinks they are the ‘BOSS”.
We the ratepayers “owe them all a living”!
They are ’shameless’!!!
Dear Mr Wee,
Thank you for your response. Appreciate it.
I agreed with you. I doubt Jalan Gombak construction can be completed by MAY 2009. Let us wait and see!!
I am really sick with Jalan Gombak road condition and the traffic jam every morning, starting from 7am.
Errant driver driving on the oppose lane, not waiting for traffic light queue and motorcyclist causing some jam here and there.
My husband and i seriously think that a Policeman situated at the Diamond Square’s Traffic light to direct the traffic and issue summons to those errant driver.
Another cause is probably due to the BAD ROAD CONDITION of Jalan Gombak!!!!!
Regards,
Jessica
Dear YB,
I’m a resident in Tmn Setapak Indah since 1991. At this moment I only have 2 concerns:
1. Early morning traffic jam caused by buses waiting for passengers at Jln Genting Kelang. These buses are there as early as 6:20am & would wait for more than 10 mins.
Imagine the congestion it would cause when another bus comes to pick up passenger. I have complained about this to DBKL but so far I haven’t notice any action taken by them.
2. Bazaar Larut Malam at Danau Kota – I have read numerous complaints about this issue in your blog but what is the status now?
At the very least, the authority should make sure that those who park their cars unscrupulously must be penalized.
Thanks & rgds,
Darren

I am surprised to read in the newspapers that Yew Teong Look, the desperate MCA boy, speaking in a press conference that there is an illegal telco tower in Section 2 and DBKL will take action against it. Giving an impression that he was the one responsible for doing it.
I have been following YB’s blog and I knew that it was YB who lodged a complaint to DBKL about it and YB had also announced in the blog a few days ago that DBKL had issued a notice to demolish it.
This MCA desperado still still trying to fool the public like what he did before. I cannot believe that this Yew Teong Look is so thick skin as to do thing like this. So low class. When he was the MP he did nothing and now that he was rejected by the people of Wangsa Maju, he started to do such low class actions.
YB Wee please expose this MCA/BN desperado of his rubbish action to fool the public. I am sure that YB Wee will not let him go just like that. I await for a press statement on this conman.
YB Wee,
I am agreed with Ms Jessica’s complaint regarding the jam at
Diamond Square traffic light junction. Please send traffic police
to survey the area.. its terrible…Instead, they are cause the jam at taking care the road at Jalan Pahang Round about lead to Jalan Tun Razak whereby the bus stop also located there.
Every morning we have to suffer the jam at Jln Gompak(Diamond Square) then Jln Genting Klang and yet the Jln Pahang Road About. Its take 1 hour plus to reach PJ.
Lastly please check the narrownest of the Lorong at SMK Chong Wah. The DBKL have any plan to widen the Lorong ?
Hope you can help the people here..Thanks
Helen
YB Wee,
Regarding YewTeongLook’s desperate low-class act…lesson to be learned here.
Next time, for such big cases, do the same. Highlight to the press and media. Haha!
Dear YB
TELCO Tower
It must be dreadful that Yew Teong Look claimed your work on the Telco tower.
I have also been following your blog and I’m sure those who have been doing the same knows the truth as to who is the one who had put in commitment into it.
Facts have already been in your blog can tell that work has been done way before the appearance of Yew Teong Look.
Why the need to bring the matter to TV and media when DBKL had already initiated their action to the tower owner. It should only be done in that manner when no action is initiated. It is so obvious that he (YTL) just wanna look GOOOOD for himself and it’s easier to claim someone esle’s work.
Hero need not publicize himself and the people knows who he is and what he did. Only desperado desperately needs to be seen and will try ways to be in front of the spot lights !
Dear YB Wee,
I would appreciate very much if you can take immediate action on the following matters.
I am a resident of Setapak Garden. Almost 10 years now i had been contacting the DBKL officials (most of them are even retired now), in relation to Telco Tower on the roof of a shophouse next to my house. No action has been taken since.
On 15 May 2008, more towers were seen fixed at the same spot. I immediately called DBKL and insisted to speak to the Datuk Bandar but my call was directed Encik Shaari, Pegawai Khas Datuk Bandar. Encik Shaari had promised to look into the matter. I waited and waited…
31 October 2008 4.11am, i was awaken by a suspecious behaviour outside my house. 2 indonesian workers were busy fixing the telco cable. 4AM???? They told me they were instructed to fix the cables by the telco company. I immediately sms Encik Shaari to ask him whats going on? After sending two sms’s i got a reply from Encik Shaari asking me to contact a Encik Mahadi of Perancang.
I was than directed to Encik Azlan who had told me that the Telco Towers were illegal and they will dismental it as soon as possible. I was asked to write to Encik Ismail Yusuf of Perancang Bandar, but i did not bother to do so as i am sick and tired of being pushed around. Until today i see more and more towers being fixed. I thought they are supposed to demolish it??
My neighbours are also against it as we know there are guidelines involving. Towers below 45m in height should be built at least 20meters away from a residential area. Our bedrooms are located right under the tower as my house is hardly 10ft away from the shoplot. How did the DBKL approve this than?
I had brought up the matter to the previous MP, but…. no reply until NOW.
Secondly, motorist are parking like anything along Jalan Malawali, blocking the main road. This matter were reported during zaman “DBKL & ANDA – with En Mazlan DBKL”. Lebih 15tahun but also no actions.
Thirdly, i am representing the people of Setapak Garden especially the elderly residents, seeking for bus service in Setapak Garden. I understand the previous bus company Len Seng, had stop service.
Fourthly, what happen to our pasar malam that has been there for past 30years and suddenly dissappeared.
Appreciate the co-operation.
Thanks.

Tahun 1995 Plaza Tol Jln Pahang, kendalian Metramac dibina dihadapan Hospital Tawakal ,bayaran sebanyak rm1.00. Mana logicnya?
Traffic masih sama. Ini kerana simpang Sentul / Jalan Pahang dibuka.
Where is the logic? We are cheated.. got ourselves stuck in traffic every morning.
Dear YB Wee
The illegal Telco tower in Section 2 WM that was demolished on April 29 refers.
We are wondering if the heaps of broken bricks and some pillars that are left standing will just be left there to rot or would there be any arrangement make by DBKL with the offender to clear up the mess.
Dear YB Wee,
Our condominium is located near to Borneo Baruk Club 1, Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur.
We received numerous complaints from our tenants due to the loud music from the club especially frm 10.30pm till 3.30am everyday. This loud noise cause sleepless night to our tenants.
We have lodged complaints to DBKL, till today there is no improvement.
Hope you can assist to look into this matter as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Has the debris left over from the demolition of the telco tower been cleared? Please let me know if it has not and I shall take it up with DBKL.
Menara Pinang Management
I regret to inform you that Jalan Kia Peng is way out side Wangsa Maju. Your area is part of Bukit Bintang constituency, which is under YB Fong Kui Loon.
Now that you have highlighted in my blog, I shall pass on your complaint to DBKL for them to investigate and to take the appropriate actions if there are any.
I am very sorry that I am of not much help to you.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog.
I would like to also take this opportunity to thank other readers for contributing in one way or another in my blog.

YB WCK,
Harap YB mengerti.
Terima kasih.
Telco Dishes & Antennas at Taman Bunga Raya, Wangsa Maju.
In my No:54 MP Question of the Week, I have highlighted the telco dishes and antennas at Taman Bunga Raya and other places in Wangsa Maju. Yesterday DBKL took actions to dismantle all the telco dishes and antennas in the shop houses at Taman Bunga Raya.
On behalf of the residents, I would would like to say “Thank You” to Yg Bhg Datuk Ahmad Fuad bin Ismail, the Datuk Bandar KL and DBKL officers for acting in the interests of the public.
I believe that there are other telco dishes and antennas in the residential areas in Wangsa Maju. I am compiling it and will be highlighting in my blog in due course.
I would like to also say thank you to the readers of my blog and the residents of Wangsa Maju for helping me by highlighting such matter to me.

YB Wee,
I drove past that W.Maju seksyen 2 telco area 2 days ago. The demolished structure is still there.
Dear YB Wee
I’m not sure if that is deemed as a complete demolition as 3 pillars are still standing. Among the standing pillars are the rest of the debris left eversince the activities on April 29.
It’s an ugly sight though.

The 11 MPs in Wilayah Persekutuan have met Datuk Bandar on 26-05-2009 from 5 pm until about 8 pm. One of the issues that I spoke up was Danau Kota (uptown) Pasar Malam. I did impress upon Datuk Bandar that the Pasar Malam is not suitable because it is very near to residential houses. I did suggest that the pasar malam should be relocated to a place far from residential houses or to start a bit early and end before 12 mid night. Datuk Bandar promised to look into the public complaint over such matter.
Thank you all so much for your contributions. I do appreciate them.
For the my readers of Chinese origin, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Dumpling Day.

Hi YB,
I am a resident and committee member in Prima Setapak 2 which is next to Chung Hwa High School. The school has been very noisy and is getting worst for the past week especially during the weekends, even at night (11pm). With all the screaming and shouting over the MIC, the residents here think that actions should be taken to notify them of this noise pollution and that they should be considerate towards the residents living in Prima Setapak 2.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.
Mr Adrian Teh:
My Special Assistant, Mr Lee, has spoken to the principal of Chung Hwa High School today. He was informed that the student responsible for the noise was no longer with the school. She has promised to put the situation under control. I sincerely hope that the school and the condo can co-exist. There must be give and take from both sides otherwise the situation will be unbearable.
Thank you so much to everyone for contributing to my blog. I value all of your opinions.
With kindest regards

Hi YB Wee,
Been living in Desa Setapak since 1998. How come the water in Desa Setapak is so dirty from taps for so long? If im not mistaken I noticed it since 2005!
Why not implement a online reporting\ticketing system such as used by many IT helpdesks instead of a blogged comments?
It will help you in keeping track of incidents above esp how long it takes for a ticket/complaint to be resolved.
Tks
Dear YB Wee
Please be informed that DBKL had came to pull down the remaining 3 pillars of the telco tower and collected the debris as well this morning.
Thank you for your assistance.
I am very sad with the study environment in UTAR Setapak.
My nephew is now studying in the Faculty of Engineering. He is a forth year student. Once I visited him, I found that most of the students are engaged in direct sales like Amway, Eliken Sales, Insurance, wares and others.
May I know these dealers are legal or illegal. To my opinion, they are students and they still need the support of their family. By engaging in direct sales may affect their studies. I complained to the UTAR, it seemed beyond their control. Is there any way to stop them? It is pity that some had neglected their study? Can these dealers make use of the students for their own benefits?
Hello YB Wee,
Speaking of half done job, I’m not sure whom I must approach regarding this issue, not really Wangsa Maju problem, but just outside Wangsa Maju on the MRR2.
I am sure many of us are fed up with the exit from Wangsa Maju into MRR2 (in front of MIA, Melawati), the potholes just after the exit onto MRR2 is always there. Patch and repatch, still there. None of the patching last more than one week. This is very dangerous, when cars exiting into MRR2, they will slow down when going over the potholes, and cars coming down from MRR2 may crash into these cars.
The contractor who is paid to do the patching SHOULD BE FIRED! Never do the job properly! Very shoddy work.
YB Wee, who should we contact? Thank you very much. Your help will be grately appreciated.
Kepada Nantero2 Zon R1…..
Hang ni nak komplen pasal penduduk ke @ nak komplen pihak pentadbir kerajaan? Kalau nak komen pasal DBKL, jangan la babitkan lain-lain agensi.. Yang hang pi komplen pasal UMNO la, PDRM la, Landmark la.. Apa masalah hang? Kalau nak komplen pasal orang lain, cuba komplen pasal diri sendiri kat depan cermin..
YB..
Thank you. You are as hardworking as ever…
Jawa Totok
“Saya melihat dan menyelami masalah yang sering diutarakan oleh penduduk yang berkepentingan di Seksyen 2 W.Maju terhadap Warung Mamak dan Gerai Rashartini Tom Yam..

You must be joking when you asked YB Wee to consider whether the traffic was built first or the Warung Mamak and Gerai Rashatini. If this is the type of argument to be used by DBKL before it can take actions against hawkers then there will be no development in KL. We must welcome development and progress.
I live in Section 2 and I can see the so-called Gerai Rashatini Tom yam. Please open up your eye properly and you will be able to see that rashatini Tom Yam is not a gerai but a restaurant. I just wonder how DBKL can issue Hawker Licence to Rashatini Tom Yam. I believe that under the DBKl Rules, a gerai must not movable and not more than 6 feet by 3 feet. The size of Rashatinin is definitely more than 50 feet by 30 feet.
As a resident to the condo nearby, there is no walkway for the resident as Rashatini is already occupying the whole stretch of the pavement. At night Rashatini alsoput up chairs and tables on the pavement by the traffic light. Public had to walk on the road. It seems that DBKL is not concerned about public safety. DBKL had to wait for members of the public is killed by accident then they will take actions. Typical BN style.
I just wonder how could DBKL issue a hawker licence to Rashatini Tom Yam under such situation. As a resident of the area I hope that YB Wee should question DBKL on how could it issue a hawker licence to Rashatini Tom Yam when it is actually a restaurant. Furthermore, YB Wee should bring to the attention of DBKL of public safety as there is no foot path for the residents.
What an argument: traffic light was there first or hawker? please stop writing rubbish!
Thank you.
YB Wee, I have previously complained about Rashatini Tom Yam in your blog and yet the gerai is still there showing to the world that you can break all the rules of DBKL as long as you “belanja kopi O” to the officers of DBKL.
I find the argument by Jawa Totok most degrading with no intellectual contents. I fully agree with Big Joke, who is also a resident of the condo nearby Rashatini Tom Yam.
I am certain that Rashatini is no longer a gerai under the definition of DBKL rules because it is so big in size and with permanent structures. This definitely cannot be a gerai. So wake up Datuk Bandar KL, you should know that your officers is bullshitting the public when they say Restoran Tom Yam is a gerai.
If no action is taken to demolish Rashatini then DBKL has no right to take actions against other hawker stalls in KL. I believe that Rashatini is the worse. I was told by my friend that one of the main reasons why DBKL officers “tutup mata’ because rashatini is owned by UMNO member. It appears that DBKL is part of UMNO. If DBKL is part of UMNO then DBKL should collect assessment rate from UMNO and not from the KL residents.
Datuk Bandar KL; Can the KL residents stop paying assessment rate now??? Please for heaven sake, withdraw the hawker licence of Rashatini because it is no a gerai, it is posing danger to the residents of the condo and it is also an eye sore by the traffic light. Thank you Datuk Bandar KL.
YB Wee do you remember DBKL took actions against the hawkers in Desa Setapak. Rashatini is on a bigger scale to the hawkers there. Rashatini is not a hawker stall. It is bigger than a normal restaurant. How could DBKl issue hawker licence to a restaurant and not demolish it when it is creating public nuisance for the nearby residents.
What type of argument, hawker was there before traffic. Jawa totok talked rubbish. DBKl please take immediate actions as it is posing a danger to the public and it is also just a few feet from the traffic light. DBKl officers makan tak cukup lagikah??? mahu nampak orang mati baru nak ambil tindakan!
I passed the place this evening on the way back from work. I agree that this Rashatini is not a gerai but a restaurant by whatever description you want to define it. How could DBKL allow this restaurant to operate by the traffic light and there is no public walk way. if there is no hanky panky how could DBKL renewed the hawker licence. DBKL officer just renew the hawker licence without even going to see the place. The officer concerned should be sacked if Datuk Bandar wants to protect the image of DBKL.
Ya DBKL officers like to minum kopi! I hope that the new Datuk Bandar will take the necessary actions to wipe out minum Kopi culture within DBKL.
Why is DBKL not taking actions against RASHATINI? Sudah minum kopilah! I lived in the condo near by and over the years I have made several complaints about it to DBKL but no actions taken. Datuk Bandar should go and have a look at this Rashatini for himself and he will definitely be shocked by the size of this so-called gerai. It is now a big restaurant.
The Jabatan Penjaja in DBKL is a can of worms! This is the reason for no actions.
DBKL won’t touch Rashatini , just look at what flag is flying beside the restaurant? That’s why. Check it out when you have the time.
The traffic from the junction at Kopitiam Section 2 until the Desa Setapak are getting worse everyday – double parking, park at yellow line, park at yellow box, and park in front of the traffic lights. Hope the police traffic and DBKL can look into this issue immediately.
Yes, it is an UMNO flag putting up on Rashatini Tom Yam restaurant. So the moral of the story is, as long as you put up UMNO flag DBKL officers will allow you to do anything even against the laws.
What a revelation? It seems that UMNO owns DBKL! Why we have to pay assessment rate? UMNO should pay all the assessment rate.
If DBKL does not take action against Rashatini then other hawkers can also start to build permanent structure “stall” by the traffic or any strategic position on the road. It is a free all now!
It is an open secret that many hawker licence were issued or renewed by DBKl without inspection. As long as they got the kopi O everything no problem.
Just go to section 2 Wangsa Maju (opposite Desa Setapak traffic light) and you will see how big is this Rashatini so-called gerai. I think it is bigger than a shop house. I am certain that it is built on government land.
Datuk Ahmad Fuad, please go and have a look at this gerai and you will get a big shock and you will know what are happening to your officers.
Rashatini is the clearest example of DBKl officer issuing hawker licence under “minum kopi ” culture. You will know what i meant right!
I hope that YB Wee push hard to stop such practices.
I agree with KK, the situation in front of Metroview shoplots is getting worse.
Not only that, the Cola Cafe live band is disturbing the peace to residents staying Metroview Condo, especially staying in Block B, just behind Cola Cafe (Lot 23-1, Metroview shoplot).
Sometimes, the loud live band will sing until 12.30midnight!
YB Wee, I read through the previous complains in your blog and find out that some of us complained about Cola Cafe when they were in Prima Setapak area.
Now, they are causing another problem in Section 2.
Very fed up.
i think everyone is looking at the issue from a political aspect. Just because the restaurant is flying a flag of a certain political party, then it must be doing something illegal, wrong and corrupt.
Let’s get back to basic :
What is the issue, is it licensing enforcement, is it traffic congestion, is it illegal structure, is it hazard to pedestrian, is it dirty eatery etc…
I am certain, each issue has a unique way of tackling it… please understand that YB Wee is our political representative who is there to assist us his constituents, regardless of what he or she crossed at the ballot box last year…
Undue pressure on YB Wee, might force him towards an unwise decision and potential conflict. He is doing such a good job now. Just because we are forcing him to take one track mind kind of action, we might open the flood gates of unnecessary criticism and problems against him.. I don’t want to lose this hard working YB. I want to keep him for many more years. He has done a lot for the people.
So, people let’s give constructive solutions for YB to consider that could satisfy everyone in Wangsa Maju.. you, me, the restaurant, the patrons, the food suppliers, the pedestrians, road users, DBKL and YB Wee himself…
YB… please continue serving us as we continue serving you….
Dear Readers
RASHATINI TOM YAM RESTORAN
Jawa Totok, Section 2 Resident, Lim of Desa Setapak, ahmad, Hashim, James and Corrupt officers.
Thank you for your comments.
I do agree that the argument posted on the ground that the hawker was there before the traffic light does not hold water at all. It is a very weak argument, which was initially put forward by Jabatan Pengurusan Peniaga Kecil of DBKL to me. This was an unacceptable argument to say the least. Genuine development must come first. In this case, the traffic light was shifted because of road widening, an necessary exercise for the people.
Upon receiving public complaint, I went to check on the Rashatini stall. It is definitely not a stall in the context of the regulation concerning “hawker stalls” under the DBKL Regulations. Under the DBKl Regulation, the maximum size of a stall cannot be more than 30 feet by 10 feet and no permanent structures. Rashatini occupies an area of more than 50 feet by 80 feet and with permanent structures. It is less than 5 feet from the traffic light and there is no public walk way for the residents of the nearby condo. It also built on government land, which will require written permission/TOL.
In short, it is now a size of a restaurant, which is no longer under the purview of Jabatan Pengurusan Peniaga Kecil but Jabatan Pelesenan, which issue licences to shot lots or shopping lots.
I have been informed by a high ranking officer as well as the chief of Jabatan Pengurusan Kecil that actions will be taken to ensure that Restoran Rashatini will conform to the existing DBKL regulations and DBKL will also ensure that there is a foot path/walk way for the residents of the nearby condo. I am also told that DBKL will act very soon.
So please bear with them for a while. I believe that the political affiliation of the owner Reshastini, as pointed out by readers, will not play a significant role in this clear cut case of breaching all DBKL Regulations. I believe a responsible political party will not defend the indefensible for it will put the political party in disrepute.
So please bear with DBKL for 2 weeks and if there are no actions then I shall follow up with DBKL officers on these complaints.
KK & Melvin
On the question of the coffee shops occupying parking lots with tables and chairs, DBKL officers have promised to take actions. In fact, I had a meeting with the Tuan Jamil, the new Pengurus of Cawangan of Wangsa Maju (dbkl) and his men a few days ago and I have brought up a list of questions including this matter and the illegal parking. Tuan Jamil has promised to take the necessary actions.
On Cola Cafe, I will inform Tuan Jamil accordingly. Thank you Melvin for reminding me about this Cola Cafe. I now remember that I have taken actions against this cafe previously and I believe that its licence was withdrawn and equipments were seized by DBKL. I am surprised that Jabatan Pelesenan can subsequently issued another licence for the same proprietor to operate under the same name. I will check with Tuan Jamil about this.
On other complaints, which I have not addressed in this reply does mean that they are not attended to, my assistants may have attended to the problems and they may take a bit of times to be resolved.
Thank you all for your contributions. I do appreciate your views and feed backs.
With kindest regards

anti perkauman
I believe a responsible political party will not defend the indefensible for it will put the political party in disrepute.”
So janganlah terlampau sensitif. What is wrong is wrong no matter which political party the offender belongs to. So please do not drop the name of political party into this matter. The issue is very clear. Just go and take a look for yourself and you will definitely say that we can not allow a restaurant to be built by the traffic light with no walk way for the public. As YB Wee had already put it, Rashatini violated all the rules and regulations of DBKL in building this gerai. It is not a gerai but restoran. So open your eyes.
No one should blame the public for coming to the conclusion that there is element of “minum kopi o” by the officers. If no minum kopi O how could such clear violations of the DBKL regualtions went on for so many years without detection until after public complaint. Even with public complaint in this blog, DBKL did not take immediate actions.
So please stop allegations about perkauman. There is none. Please read YB Wee’s reply and his posting regarding meeting with Datuk Bandar. Just take a trip to Section 2 Wangsa Maju and witness the stall for yourself and you will change your view because it is bigger than a normal shop house restaurant!
I rest my case. So DBKL officers want to change their image then please take actions quickly so that the public will have a new opinion.
YB Wee,
With the effort, hardwork and determination you are showing here, we are sure that you will bring difference and improvement in Wangsa Maju.
Thank you.
I do agree with Melvin about the effort and determination of YB Wee. YB Wee is full of determination as we can see that he was forced out of the political scene after he was sacked from the DAP by Lim Kit Siang and some 10 years later he is backed in Parliament. With YB Wee’s experience, I am sure that Wangsa Maju will be a better place. I can see a lot of improvements in Wangsa Maju within a short period of time. DBKL is working harder than usual and rubbish collections are regular now.
I am sure that the case of Rashatini will be solved in the near future and the residents of the condo will get their walk way at the traffic light area.
YB Wee please keep it up and keep us informed of matters affecting our life. The latest issue of credit card company involving MBF and our maximum liability for lost card is fixed at RM250 is good information that we want. We need MPs to stand up for us. We have had enough politicking. We want a better life style where are interests are protected.
Thank you YB. You will get my family votes (6 votes).
Hartini not only take up the walk way. They even put up the barrier at the road side for their personal parking lot. This make the road to enter alpha condominium getting harder. PLEASE DO SOMETHING.
xenos55 & ksb
I do agree with both of you with regards to Rashastini Restaurant and Danau Kota Pasar Malam.
Rashatini can not be allowed to go on as it is against all the laws under DBKL. How a restaurant be allowed to be built just a few feet fromt eh traffic light without any walk path or pavement for public to walk. How could DBKL approve licence for such restaurant? DBKL officer must be very happy after they have their usual Kopi-O! You all knwo what I meant.
As for the Danau Kota Pasar Malam, it is becoming a nuisance for the people around the area. it is promoting buday lepak. No one with the right mind will go out shopping at 3 am. By the way if it interest you to know, Yew Teong Look, when he was the MP, brought this pasar malam to Danau Kota.
DBKl should either stop this passar malam or relocate it to another place that is far from residential area to prevent disturbance.
DBKL please wake up to the people feeling for a change. Don’t just minum kopi O only!
Dear Sir,
It has been going on for a few days where us residents of Metroview, Seksyen 2, have to bear the foul smell of open burning at night. However, there was no sighting of burning.
We believe that the burning was near Metroview. If possible, please help to look into the matter.
Thanks and best regards.
hi
last saturday which is 11.30PM – 13/jun/2009 one of car park in front of gate house and block my way, because of the UPTOWN – DANAU KOTA – pasar malam.
this is second time those car park infront of my house. i think most of the people staying near DANAU Kota experienced before.
Mr Wee,
“On the question of the coffee shops occupying parking lots with tables and chairs, DBKL officers have promised to take actions. In fact, I had a meeting with the Tuan Jamil, the new Pengurus of Cawangan of Wangsa Maju (dbkl) and his men a few days ago and I have brought up a list of questions including this matter and the illegal parking. Tuan Jamil has promised to take the necessary actions.”
Previously you told us that DBKL will come and do something to the table and chairs. But i see that looks like they didn’t come. All talk only.
You reply this on January 4, 2009 at 11:02 pm last time:
“Please be assured that I have duly complained to DBKL about this and the officers promised actions soon. If there is no actions from DBKL for the next 10 days I shall bring this matter to the attention of Datuk Bandar.”
So will this time they will really come?
I’d like to make a complaint against weekly karaoke and Chinese performances causing massive noise pollution to residents of Prima Setapak and Genting Court condos. These ‘concerts’ are held on a piece of unused land between Prima Condo and Genting Court. Although it is in the weekend, please consider the needs of young children, babies, students who need to study and people who need to work on weekends! These concerts are held on makeshift stage. Did they obtain appropriate license etc?

Re : Pot holes / Man holes along Jalan Gombak.
From Jalan Pahang Junction to Ong Tai Kim.
1. Almost 80 % of the road has been tarred, but those potholes are still there and i believe it will be there for a very long time.
2. May i suggest that DBKL to PAINT IT YELLOW / WHITE square surround the holes so that it can be seen from far and to avoid vehicles damage / accidents.
3. Mamak Shop – tables and chairs at parking lot.
DBKL should a limit up to 5 tables per shop lot, currently there are about 20 tables from 1 shop and place on the Public Parking Lots.
4. Jalan Changgal – Road between Jalan Gombak and Jalan Langkawi.
That road had since become a main road, please remove the Speed Breaker / Road Bump, or at least reduce it.
That’s about all.
Thank you very much.

There’s a illegal shop constructed at car park in section 4 in front of block B7. At night they’re set with tables and chairs, and now we can’t find parking place anymore. This is very unfair. The other shops in warong are paying rental, but this shop is not only disturbing the parking area, but using illegal water and electrik. Pls do something.

Yaakob and YB Wee,
Really glad and appreciate it to see that all complains here have been forwarded to DBKL.
However, please do make sure that these complains will be follow up with DBKL.
from my side in Section 2, i can see that other issues still no action by DBKL.
- tables and chairs in car park complains in this blog, such as places like Metroview shoplots. Cars parking everywhere including in the middle of the road, resulting in traffic jam in the area.
- Cola Club cafe in Metroview. No action taken so far. Now the Cola Cafe is undergoing renovation. Supposingly to have “better” live concert after the renovation. Want to sleep early at 10pm also cannot, very loud music. For the time now, peace, can sleep because renovation. After renovation, nightmare again.
Once again, thank you for your help YB Wee and Yaakob.
Dear YB Wee/ En Yaacob,
Many thanks to YB Wee and En Yaacob, all the block D & E of Wangsa Maju Section 2 compound and car park in the dark at night already resolved, it is bright again at night.

Dear YB
the traffic light near taman melati Mcdonald is not functioning for weeks but no action is taken. there is a school nearby and most of the resident are students, thus the traffic here is very heavy. it is very dangerous if it is not fix. thank you.
YB Wee and Yaakob,
I found out on Friday night, not only Cola Club have live band performance, Bangi Kopitiam also have live band now! No peace at night, especially on Friday night. Want to sleep early also cannot. Very loud. Live band performance will end at 12 midnight. But those staying in Metroview Condo, especially the block facing Bangi Kopitiam, cannot sleep before 12 midnight.
Please forward this to DBKL. Thank you.
Can these restaurant have license to hold live band in this area?

YB Wee & En Yaacob,
I am seeking for your assistance to inform DBKL on the parking situation in Jln Wangsa Delima 6.
We are working in the offices of Jln Wangsa Delima and due to the very limited parking space we sometimes need to park very far from our office.
The parking meter accept only a maximum of 3 hours rate amounting to RM1.50. And there is no selection of additional hours at the machine.
Meaning that if we park at 8am our tickets will be valid only up to 11am. Then we will have to go down again to get new parking tickets . DBKL will make their round and when we explain the situation to them they just say we need to pay and they will just produce summonses.
This is not only inconvenient but causes us to waste time and be unproductive especially if our cars are parked very far away.
I hope that YB can suggest the following to them;
1. If you purchase maximum 3 hours it should be sufficient to cover for the whole day. (if this is already the case, get DBKL to put that in writing on a signboard or something)
2. Introduce monthly/yearly passes for areas at our office area at discounted rate so that it can be easily purchased.
Your fast response to this highly appreciated because we are facing this problem on a daily basis.
TQ.
Mazian
Dear Yb,
I am strongly agree with Mazian, please do something with this stupid meter parking which limit at 3 hours. Not that we don’t want to pay, but its just unwise to have someone working to go out office every 3 hours. And our parking is not downstairs, it take 20 minutes walked. Simple calculation, if we work 9 hours , than we need to down 3 times and each time will take one hours(total will be 3 hours) . Do they expect our employer to give us such luxury, if DBKL officer might be. but not us. PLEASE HELP US. I have collected few Samans because of this, and each saman cozt 100, how can we survive. BETTER no need work, my daily salary also cant cover it.
HI YB:
On behalf of residents of 6/23 E danau kota, Setapak , we’ll like to thank you for the assistance, arrangement and response on the problem cause by late night pasar malam in danau kota.
For those who wanted to know the update on this issue, today YB WEE CHOO KEONG arrange/brought us to hand in the petition at MENARA DBKL, although Datuk Bandar was no available, but his assistance Mr Shaari receive the petition on behalf. a few press was there to interview us(residents and shop owner), a good Kick start to solve the problem.
We will be keep in view for the progress of DBKL to solve the problem.
regard
Residents of danau kota.
29july2009 2pm
Dear Mazian & Xenos
I sympathise with the problems that you have highlighted. I believe that there is some reason for limit placed on the maximum duration of the parking meter i.e. to ensure that all visitors to the areas will have a chance to park their cars.
Such problems could have been avoided if DBKL perform its duty properly i.e. before approval is given for the project, DBKL should ensure that the developer will provided ample parking space otherwise approval will not be given.
Nevertheless, your complaint has been submitted to DBKL. We will be following up.
Jack:
Thank you so much for your comments. It was very encouraging indeed. As I have told you before, as long as you all sign the petition I shall give all assistance to you all. I know that this is not a popular stand to take as all kinds of allegation will be made against me. To me, I cannot be bothered by the possible problems because we are asking DBKl to relocate the pasar malam to a place which is far from residential area.
I am very happy to provide whatever assistance i can for you and others over such matter.

I wrote the above on July 15 and to my dismay, still no action has been taken….
Dear YB,
Thank you for forwarding my complaint to DBKL.
I myself tried calling and spoke to various Jab in DBKL after getting a reply email instruction asking me to call Jab. Pengangkutan DBKL (03-2614 4222) . I enquired with this dept when they will issue the monthly sticker. The lady told me that they are working on it but no definite date and she mentioned “this year”. I told her if you don’t issue us the sticker than don’t give out summonses everyday. We cannot live like this on a daily basis.
She asked me to call Jab Penguatkuasa (03-40267200). I told people here about our predicament and said that they should be considerate to us working class. Don’t issue summonses until you give us the convenience to pay our parking. Some of us pay parking as early as 8am and every 3 hours we have to go down to buy another ticket. they can either change the meter to accommodate us or issue the passes now. Either way they will be getting revenue.
So again YB, we cannot endure this on a daily basis. Your help is highly appreciated
Yeah YB, i agree with mazian, not us only there are many others affected. I have mention few times here, please help us to do something, me and my colleague has being summonses more than thousands already. How can we survive. It push us to be bad citizen cause this is so unfair and ridiculuous

things has getting from bad to worst , more and more stalls been INSTALLED and monopolize the street and area!!!! these are totally unacceptable …
SALAM SEMUA,
YB DAN SEKELIAN,
Saya ingin mengetahui status tentang perkara-perkara berikut:-
1) Pengutan suara petisyen agar Bazar Larut Malam Uptown Danau Kota dipindahkan.
POHON PENJELASAN YB…
YB

Terima kasih atas pandangan sdr. Izinkan saya memberikan penjelasan ringkas disini.

AMONG THE RESTAURANT THAT PLACES ITS CHAIRS AND TABLES ON THE PARKING BAY.
TWO RESTAURANTS IN JALAN MALAWALI, SETAPAK GARDEN, BEEN USING THE PARKING AREA TO PLACE CHAIRS AND TABLES. THEY EVEN SERVE LIQUOR OPENLY. DBKL MUST TAKE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN HOUSING AREA, WE ARE ALREADY FACING ENOUGH SOCIAL PROBLEMS. HOW ARE WE TO KEEP AN EYE ON OUR CHILDREN IF THE LIQUARS ARE BEING SOLD RIGHT BEFORE OUR HOUSES. USE BRAIN LA BEFORE SIMPLY ALLOWING THIS KIND OF THINGS SOLD IN HOUSING AREAS. WHEN WE URGED FOR THE PASAR MALAM TO BE ALLOWED IN ITS PREVIOUS SET, DBKL SAYS THAT THE PASAR MALAM IS CAUSING SOCIAL PROBLEMS AMONG OUR YOUTH. LICOURS DONT????

First of all, we would like to thank you for forwarding our complaints to DBKL.
However, what happen after that?
Do you follow up with DBKL and make sure that our complaints are heard, and to make sure that DBKL do something about these problems?

Please enlighten us.

Salam YB Wee/En Yaacob,

Parking and restaurant table matters can only be solved by DBKL. May I suggest DBKL look at these hotspots and see how certain sections of the affected roads may be closed say from 7pm to 12am or something, to allow restaurant/ hawker operations. An example of this practice is the Taiping hawker centre right in the town centre.
Either this or DBKL stop accepting bribes and start some real enforcement on the restaurant operators having tables on the roads. How can you let tables congest the road and parking lots right. You either limit the parking hours or the restaurant operating boundaries. DBKL- get your act right.

Terima kasih atas aduan sdr.
Terima Kasih.

Hi,
Re : pasar malam @Danau Kota
Any updates from DBKL on the above ?
This issue has been highlighted by many over and over again, but no proper direction given ?
What does DBKL has to say ?
So, do we residents of Setapak Indah shift out or stay put ?
Setapakman
I have handed over a Petition signed by over 500 residents on Danau Kota pasar Malam issue. I have also written to Datuk Bandar regarding this matter. I have not received any official respond. I have tabled a Parliamentary Question for the Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan to provide answers on this matter.
Here is the question:
YB Tuan Wee Choo Keong [WANGSA MAJU] asks the Minister of Wilayah Persekutuan to state why DBKL allowed the Danau Kota Uptown Pasar Malam in Wangsa Maju to operate daily from 10 pm to 4 am in residential areas whereby it has interfered with the quite enjoyment of the residents in the area, created traffic jams and other social problems including criminal activities for the areas and despite the residents having recently sent a petition to Datuk Bandar against its operation, DBKL still increased more stalls. Please also state whether this pasar malam will be moved to a place far away from residential areas.”
I am still waiting for the Minister reply. As soon as I have received the reply I shall publish it in my blog.
Setapakman, I do share your agony. I am sure that they are many others who are also angry about the social problems created by this daily Pasar Malam. As you know this Pasar Malam was initially operating in Damansara Utama and as a result of the protest by the people int the area, it was moved to section 2 in Wangsa Maju. The people of Section 2 also protested and the then MP for Wangsa Maju was instrumental in getting them moved to Danau Kota.
So it is now our job to work hard to move them out to an area far from residential area. I believe that UMNO boys are involved in this pasar malam. I will do my best to assist the residents in this matter but I need your support in the event that we have no choice but to launch a protest at Dewan Bandaraya.
Thank you.
With kindest regards
Wee Choo Keong

Jack and other residents in Danau Kota,
I fully share your predicament. I will definitely push the issue in this coming Parliamentary session. with the help and support from the residents, I am sure that we can make it. Of course, it is not easy because of the BN connection. Let me get teh reply in Parliament and we will take it from there. Please bear with me for a while more.
with my kindest regards

Dear Mr MP,
The Danau Kota pasar malam problem is long due. Though I do not staying around that area I share the agony and sympathise with the people staying around there. How long is the Datuk Bandar going to take to reply to your letter and complaints by the public. Clearly shows he is not bothered. Who in the right mind would allow a pasar malam to operate in a residential area from 10pm to 4am. If social networking is what is intended then this definitely is not the place. I have written about this problem previously and cannot believe that no action has been taken and this debate is still going on! This pasar malam cannot remain. We used to have a pasar malam in Setapak Garden and it operated on decent hours but it was removed after years it being there and I wonder why? I too tend to think that UMNO is behind this. Why does the Datuk Bandar not give you a solution? Is it because it is an Oppostion ruled area?
I strongly urge you to do something immediately.

Yeah, I agree with most of the comments on DAnau Kota pasar malam. It is really something too much. I once drive at a garden that hold a pasar malam, and it already can make me so fed up. But this is only once a week. I imagine, if i have to go thru it everyday , it is really annoying and human patience are not to stand this for such a long period
YB Wee Choo Keong,
Saya, penghuni Teratai Mewah Apartment.
peminpin baru pasti kepimpinan baru….
